Great looking torch
Good looking torch. Have not tried on dive yet. Compared with other torches seems to be not as sturdy, however not.being.used until end April.

A really nice torch, but note mine and other reviewers comments about accessing the battery compartment!
I will start off by mentioning (as other reviewers have) that this torch is mildly irritating straight out of the box (although I have forgiven it now...)There are a full set of batteries included so being a typical bloke I wanted to power up and give it a try immediately! The top of the torch unscrews as per many other torch designs (and has a very secure fit which gives me great confidence at its underwater seal). However, the LED โunitโ stayed in the barrel of the torch and in the instructions there is no clear picture of it being like this. The pictures show the LED unit being attached to the lens and collar part so I did initially think it was broken. It took some very vigorous shaking to actually get it to come out to reveal the battery compartment. With batteries installed and (please note!) having lined up the LED unit as per the channels on the inside of the barrel, it all went together easily but this was what was just a bit annoying! The switch almost feels a little clunky, however I imagine that if you are using it for diving that you may have neoprene gloves on, in which case this would be appropriate. The switch either slides to flash the lamp, or clicks permanently on.There are two power settings, although to switch you have to dismantle the torch and itโs quite fiddly. I canโt notice a particularly big difference between the two so have kept it on the lower setting which should help improve the LED lifetime and the battery life. The beam and power of the torch is bright and well focussed. There is a nice elasticated lanyard with a spring slider so you can secure it nicely to your wrist.

Brilliant light and comfortable to use
This is a well designed torch, very much geared towards diving and outdoor activities ... fishing, sailing etc. It is IPX-8 rated to 75M, which is much deeper that I go anyway. The torch has a nice balance and the ergonomic design means that it is comfortable your hand, and the big 3 position switch ... OFF/Hold On/Permanent is easy to use and positive, even with gloves on.The lens is designed to produce a very focused beam of light, especially good for murky UK waters, and has 2 settings, low is 210 lumens, high, 260.With batteries installed, the torch weighs 240g, or 8.5 oz and is 168mm, 6.6" long and 47mm 1.85" wide.It has a good elasticated wrist band, and the asymmetrical shape means that it won't roll away on a rocking boat. It will also survive a 1.5m drop onto a hard surface.I must admit that the only con I can think of is that you need to take the torch apart to switch from low to high settings, and on high, the torch auto shuts off after 3 minutes ... an hour on low.It is supplied with 4AA batteries that should give 3.5 to 5 hours of light, depending on what settings you using. All in all a good, powerful dive torch, easy and comfortable to use.At ยฃ50 it is expensive for an ordinary tough torch, but for a dive torch, it's OK.
A**.
It's a diving torch! NOT an outrageously expensive camping torch.
Most of the negative reviews are by people who don't dive and got the torch free to review - and are comparing it with the flood of cheap "waterproof" lookalike torches. Rather important to appreciate that the lenses on dive torches are shaped to give the desired beam shape UNDER water, rather than in air........I bought 2 for an impending dive trip to Indonesia. Being honest, I was a bit underwhelmed when they arrived - felt a bit plasticy & flimsy. But, having used them diving, I'm much more positive about them - especially for foreign travel where their low weight is a distinct plus. Bright and easy to use. Yes, changing batteries & the intensity setting requires the torch to be opened - but most divers will be familiar the waterproofing issues surrounding dive kit.I also imagine the specification quotes real lumens, rather than arbitrary exaggerations beloved of generic torches......In fact, having started out rather sceptical, when we discovered that we had lost one on our trip, I promptly ordered a replacement.Pricewise - yes, a bit pricey. We were lucky enough to get them on an Amazon special offer for ยฃ35 which seemed a good price.

LED Dive Light Designed For SCUBA or Marine Use
This torch is designed for scuba diving and thus it is really waterproof and rated IPX-8 75 Metres. The torch comes in a nice presentation cardboard box with a brief instruction leaflet and 4 x Varta AA batteries. The front of the torch was quite stiff to undo but this goes along to it being rated to go underwater. The actual CREE LED module will then fall out of the torch body (normally helped out by the batteries). The LED module has a very small switch on it to change the light output level from 210 Lumens up to 260 Lumens but it will then only stay on for a whole three minutes vs 60 minutes in 210 Lumens mode (The LED electronics turn the LED off after these time values). To access this hi/lo switch, you have to open the torch up and I can't see many people ever changing the setting from low.In normal operation it only has one light level with the switch either hold it to keep light on (I guess for anyone using HI mode) or if you push it a bit more it will latch on (it also has a latch off position to prevent operation in error). The LED light colour is more of a natural colour light.Abroad, this would make a good primary torch but in UK waters or if you are wreck penetrating this would be best suited as a backup. The instructions say that it will warn you with short flashes if the battery is running low and a good set of AA's with the torch in low mode should last 5 hours in operation. It has a non removable elastic lanyard already fitted to go around your wrist, or secure to your BCD.The switch is big and should be easy to operate even with 5mm gloves on and the light distribution pattern seems good for a torch of its size. The switch I am guessing uses a magnet to turn on the electronics, only one quite chunky o-ring to keep the sea at bay.
