Breastfeeding was a challenge after my son spent his first 3 weeks in NICU being bottle fed. When I brought him home, we struggled with nursing. When I saw a lactation consultant and used this pillow, it made a huge difference in comfort and ease. I bought one immediately and have been able to successfully breastfeed in bed, on the couch, in a chair with this pillow. It makes it so easy for my baby to get into position and he's so comfortable while feeding. I also love that when milk spills or he spits up, you can easily wipe it clean and sanitize without needing to wash the cover.

I rarely write reviews but I'll write one for this. My lactation doctor used this at her office and I instantly fell in love. Breastfeeding can be hard. It's particularly tough with a newborn. Their tiny mouths make it difficult to get a good latch, which results in discomfort for mom and poor feeding habits for baby. Having a good support pillow is crucial. The boppy seems to be everywhere, but this pillow? It works 1000x better. Its flat foam surface means baby isn't rolling off, the shape of the pillow and buckle provide support to both mom and baby, and overall it just helps you get a good latch. I tried the boppy once and then ordered two of these. I ordered a third for my sister, who's on baby #2 and had never used one. She loved it. I disagree with the reviewer who said the nylon cover is uncomfortable, by the way. I have this one and another covered with the cloth fabric. They both are comfortable. This is better, though, because the cover doesn't need to be washed when baby spits up or you leak or, heaven forbid, a diaper leaks. You just wipe it down and you're done. I ended up scotchguarding the other pillow to keep stains from soaking into the foam. If price is an issue, use Amazon warehouse to buy a returned one, but I recommend this model over the others for ease of cleaning.

I won't review the basic My Brest Friend product here, because there are tons of reviews elsewhere (just see any of the basic models). (But yes, for what it's worth, I heartily recommend the Brest Friend over the Boppy - I bought both and used the Brest Friend exclusively, at least for the first 4-5 months when baby was small. After that the Boppy worked just fine and I preferred it as it was easier to take on & off with one hand.) If you're reading this, you're probably wondering if it's worth buying the "Professional" model over the regular model. It seems like the "Professional" model is marketed primarily to hospitals and lactation consultants, but I think it's a must have for home use. I originally got one of the regular Breast Friend models, with the 100% cotton cover, and my little guy promptly pooped on it... and milk was also dripping onto it fairly frequently. Although the cotton cover is washable, the pillow insert itself is only supposed to be spot cleaned .. which didn't feel very hygienic or durable. And for some unknown reason, the manufacturer does not make a waterproof liner like Boppy does. So, I bought this professional model - it may not have a cute design on the cover, and yes the top is plastic/vinyl so not super soft, but it is much more practical. I put a burp cloth over the top so my little guy primarily makes contact with that, and if poop or milk gets on it I can just wash it and easily wipe the blue cover underneath clean. I'm surprised more moms don't buy this one. Highly recommended! EDIT: After 5 months of use, I still highly recommend this pillow. The only downside I'd add is that the material is not breathable. If I don't put a cloth layer between my baby and the pillow, his head/body get sweaty and start sticking to the pillow. Probably not too comfortable for him. So I just make sure to always put a layer in between. The Aden + Anais burp cloths are the perfect size/shape (crescent-shaped) and work great.

If your not using a breastfeeding pillow that clips your missing out this one is also really easy to clean off when you have spit up or blow outs! Plus size? No worries this strap holds and is very comfortable. Even at 16 months pp we are still using it and love it! I can’t say enough about this! Buy it you won’t regret it!

A sister-in-law lent me her My Best Friend Deluxe pillow, with the soft plush cover, when I gave birth to my son. The pillow made breastfeeding easy and I practically lived with the pillow on my waist during the early weeks. I still use the pillow now that my son is 10 weeks, and since I'll soon be returning my sister-in-law's pillow (she is expecting another baby), I decided to order a nice new My Best Friend for myself. I was thrilled to find this one with the vinyl cover. My son spits up a lot and this pillow is just like the Deluxe but with a waterproof cover that protects the foam inside and wipes clean. I'm completely happy with it, and recommend this version of the pillow to anyone planning to breastfeed. One other improvement over the deluxe: both covers use a silent-open clasp, but this cover doesn't involve the velcro adjustment. A quirk of the Deluxe is that, with the velcro adjustment, if you're a smaller person after your pregnancy (size 4 or so), the pillow's velcro gets exposed and catches on everything (clothes, blankets, my terrycloth robe). This professional pillow doesn't use any velcro when it adjusts to fit my waist, so I'm not going to be wrecking my terrycloth robe anymore. Just a minor detail, but I'm glad to notice the difference.

This pillow is AWESOME. I only gave it four stars because of the one con. Pros: -It straps on, so I can situate the pillow QUICKLY when the baby starts fussing for food if I'm in another room or something. -It's anti-microbial so if anything gets on it, ANYTHING, it just wipes right off! - It has little pillow stunts in it for the baby's head to prop up a little bit when they're eating. Helps mine because she spits up a lot and the elevation helps prevent more spit-up. -It makes it so I can be hands-free and comfortable. If I have to check emails or something on my computer the baby can just lay on the pillow even if she's not eating while I type. I sit in a rocking chair at the computer so the swaying motion and being in my lap in combination keep her perfectly content. Cons: -Well, I live in Florida, and most of the pillows come with covers. This one doesn't. So the anti-microbial material, although it's mess-free, it makes the baby's bare skin sweat while she's laying on it. I have to put a swaddle blanket on it so this doesn't happen, because I don't have enough money to order a cover right now. I would definitely recommend it! Just buy a cover if you want to make things simple. ;)

The hospital I delivered at had this pillow to support me while breast feeding. I 100% recommend everyone getting one of this new parents and parents who are doing it again! It offers the support you need for baby to latch, the buckle is nice to keep it secured to your body and it has a nice back rest as well. The "fabric" is comfortable and easy to wipe clean.

My Brest Friend professional is the way to go if you're going to use a nursing assist device. I tried the Boppy pillow - which I love for other uses - but for nursing it didn't work too well for me. Since the adjustable strap snaps securely around your waist, My Brest Friend allowed me to stand up while holding the baby in place with one hand without the fear of him slipping away from me. It has a washable soft vinyl cover that is easy to clean and won't absorb any spilled milk or spit up. My boyfriend used it as well when he would bottle feed our baby, as it gave him the support needed to hold the baby securely. If you're going to purchase a My Brest Friend pillow, go for the professional model - it's worth the extra money to easily clean and keep it nice and new feeling. For me it was a matter of sanitation, and I'm glad I chose this model.

Purchase the My Brest Friend Professional Pillow for a shared breastfeeding space after seeing it used at the hospital breastfeeding clinic by lactation consultants. The material is waterproof and makes it very easy to wipe clean. It provides great support for breastfeeding, making it more comfortable for myself and the little one.

The idea behind this product is great. The positioning of it is exactly where it should be, preventing any back pain, bending, strains, etc. But it really depends on your baby's size. I bought it when my baby was two months old (and I have a rather big one), and it was not as comfortable because he had outgrown it and probably neither I nor he was used to it. Maybe if bought at the very beginning it would be much more useful than it was for me.

Great support for the baby when feeding or just cuddling and you need free hands. Easy to wash casing, happy that it's water proof, no worries about milk getting all over the pillow. Saves your back and arms from excess strain.
