DK France (Travel Guide)

Very useful, well illustrsted

I recently went to France and saw a copy that another traveler had. It had lovely reviews of all of the places I visited and I wanted it for the notation that you had of the various cities. Thank you as it was most helpful.

This book is a good resource to help plan a trip. It breaks it down into regions, with highlights of what each region has to offer and special attractions. More detailed information for Paris, since there is so many things to do there. Would recommend it as a resource for pre planning. I appreciate the maps it has along with recommend stays and food/drink options.I agree it is too big and thick to bring with you- so it would be nice if the maps detached.

Enjoyed the pictures in the book, but wish that there were separate detailed maps for each city/parts of France. The key is the back of the book where the Glossary/Index is, and there is a separate website page which provides a main website for specific city/area.

I try never to purchase any other series. Great photos, great organization, great information.

I was very disappointed in the limited travel planning info I could garner from this book. It was so superficial with many pretty photos but so very little useable specifics. Such a waste as I will now have to buy a competitor’s book so I can properly acquaint myself with the country.

Bought the book for my Autistic son. He enjoyed it, and it was in great condition, but could have been a couple of dollars cheaper.

As usual, DK travel guides (and all their other products) are great for travellers visiting a place for the first time. In addition to well documented and relevant articles,I love the pictures, graphics and 3D illustration.

We've always used DK guides when planning Continental road trips (usually in conjunction with Lonely Planet's Best Road Trips series). This 2024 edition has been a massive help for our next venture this year, a three week tour of France - it's easy to navigate the regions, with plenty of detail of the main attractions, cities/towns/villages and great photos. Highly recommended.

We depend on Eyewitness Guides to plan our vacation trips. Just had a nice trip to Normandy helped by this guide.

Serve its purpose

The book is well written, concise, and very comprehensive.
