This is a very good head guard considering the cost. It has great front protection but i would say that maybe side and rear protection is not so good. I had more than 10 sparring sessions with my friends and we were not injured at all, maybe a little dizzy but that's what happens if you get hit by an uppercut in the face. Also it has removable bars in front but i would not suggest removing them (i learned the hard way) and it is very easy to put on, it will not take you more than 10 seconds. The only thing that restrains me from having the ultimate fun with this chest gear is that the bars impair your vision enough to miss some highmakers and uppercuts from a boxer. Other than that this head gear is awesome, i recommend. PS:The plastic edges of the bars are very sharp and may injure and cut your fingers if you are wearing half finger gloves. I filed them and now they are round.

Strong, Protective and quite comfortable to wear.

The RDX Pro Head Guard is a solid choice for anyone needing reliable head protection for martial arts or combat sports training. After using it during several Krav Maga sessions I found it to be comfortable secure and more than adequate for the level of contact involved. It delivers a good balance of visibility protection and comfort which makes it suitable for both beginners and more experienced practitioners. The first thing that stands out about this head guard is the overall construction. The padding is thick enough to absorb impact without feeling overly bulky and the material feels durable and well stitched. The guard fits closely around the head and once adjusted it stays firmly in place during movement. Even during fast drills and partner exercises it did not shift or loosen which is essential for effective protection. The removable grill is a useful feature. It provides added facial protection when needed but can be taken off easily for drills where more visibility or freedom of movement is required. When fitted the grill does not obstruct breathing and the visibility remains better than expected. I used the head guard with and without the grill depending on the drill and found both configurations worked well. Comfort is another strong point. The inner lining feels soft against the skin and does not cause irritation even during longer sessions. The ventilation is adequate and while no head guard will completely prevent heat build up this one keeps it to a manageable level. I had no issues with pressure points or rubbing. In terms of performance the head guard worked with no issues. During Krav Maga classes which involve contact drills striking and movement patterns the protection felt sufficient and the guard gave me added confidence during close range exchanges. It is not the most premium option on the market but for the price it offers very good performance. Overall the RDX Pro Head Guard is a dependable and practical option for sparring and general training. It provides solid protection a secure fit and useful versatility thanks to the removable grill. It was good enough for my Krav Maga sessions and I would happily continue using it.

I’ve used this for couple of years. 4.5 stars would be more accurate but just rounded up to 5. Obviously the vision gets limited a little which is expected, but generally does protect the face well. If u have a bridged nose it can occasionally still get bruised if hit hard enough but it’s part of the game. To get best fit make sure it’s tightened well. Good value for money overall.

This is a great head guard but unfortunately it was WAY too big for our 7 year old boy! Had to send back for a refund.

I work full time and I box for recreation and to stay fit. I'm definitely what you consider a beginner. My trainer is a little bigger than me with a longer reach, and in the ring he tends to hold me off with stiff jabs to my nose. He noticed that when he lands a solid punch, I tend to back off and lose aggressiveness. So when I saw that some of the headgear have hockey style masks on them, I thought that would be perfect for me. Sure enough, with the mask on to protect my nose, I'm able to be more aggressive and stand toe to toe more often with my trainer. The headgear is very comfortable. I got a medium size and it fits me well. My buddy is over 6 feet and about 230 pounds, so I got him an XL and he has no problems with the fit. To put on the headgear, you slip it on and just attach the Velcro. Very easy and no strings to mess around with. There's a nice opening for your ears but thick padding so you are still protected. Also padding on top of your head. Padding all around. The inside has a sort of suede cloth-like feel, which is also nice for absorbing sweat so it doesn't feel like you are soaked inside. The mask is hard plastic and may limit your visibility, but it can be removed. My buddy doesn't like it so he spars without it and he still loves the headgear. I'm willing to sacrifice the slightly less visibility and the occasional tease from other boxers in the gym to make sure I walk out of the gym without a crooked nose. Maybe one day I'll take the training wheels off. Regardless, a great headgear with or without the mask on. Edit 11/22/15: without the mask, you will still have padding for chin protection. The padding also comes out to cover your cheeks.

Excelente producto para quiénes tenemos una operación de la vista. Cómo es de esperarse, el rango de visión se reduce un poco, pero es perfecta para cualquier tipo de arte marcial. En lo personal practico box y me ha resultado muy útil

Il caschetto è un ottimo prodotto, ben costruito, confortevole e da l'impressione di essere durevole. La griglia frontale si può togliere facilmente e resta comunque un buon caschetto con parazigomi. La chiusura è solo posteriore (zona occipitale alta) tramite velcro, è comoda e veloce ma non consente una completa chiusura sulla zona della nuca: le caso di colpi troppo forti il caschetto può quindi scivolare ruotando sul viso o togliendosi del tutto. Consigliato per attività che non prevedono il contatto pieno.
