Pleasantly surprised.
15-Feb-2025:they are almost in the same condition as when I bought them. I wear them every day. Those are the best shoes I've had in my life. very comfortable, supporting, and sturdy. 100% recommended. I will be getting a backup pair soon, I think my wife might like them also (same size).20-Jun-2024:They feel good after wearing them in. Had several compliments on how they look. Very good value and decent style
It's been nearly 20 years since I last bought a pair of boots and I am genuinely surprised how good these are for the money. If, like me, you have mainly worn shoes, then you will need to get used to the higher heal and the abrupt change in slope of the insole just in front of the heal edge. That said, half an hour of wear and I can hardly notice it. They are slip-ons, with an elasticated side, so expect a little movement and slip while walking. Some thick socks can resolve this to a large degree but there will always be a little bit of play.The heal is just over an inch (about 2.5 cm) tall and given the depth of the boot sole, I think these should stand a good deal of use. The upper leather arrives matt black but takes a shine reasonably well. The leather is very supple, so there is no need to break these in before a long period of use. That suppleness does, however, come at a price; the leather is quite thin. Only time will tell if this is a weakness but I expect that regular polishing will maintain the uppers in good order - that same goes for all shoes.The style is equally at home with my boot-cut jeans or with an Edwardian three piece suit that I have; that is a real surprise!Well worth the money and I will certainly consider these again when the time comes for replacement.

Awful things
Torture devices. I put gel soles and put up with them for 5 days to try and break them in but I couldn't do it anymore. It hurt to walk for a week after wearing these.
