Much, much better than I expected.
When I first received these I thought I had just bought 2 blobs of plasticine and this was a con, however I tried them out anyway.I work in noisy environments, play in a couple of rock bands and am a light sleeper so I have some experience of various types of earplugs. These do not block out noise as effectively as professional musician's hearing protection but that level of protection can cost hundreds of pounds. These, in my opinion, are at least as good as the disposable foam buds you get given in factories. Which should be good enough for sleeping unless you're in a really unlucky situation. The advantage of these though is threefold;1. The mouldable material fits perfectly into the ear so there are no gaps2. This material is very comfortable; many in-ear protectors can be uncomfortable and even hurt3. They don't fall out. Invariably in-ear protection will fall out of your ears when you're in bed. These just don't because it's moulded into your ear. So they're still in there in the morning.Set your alarm to extra loud!

Probably the best..Not only good for sleep but noisy envirements!!
Working nights and having a rather busy house I find these to be the perfect solution to my sleepless days. You get 2 per pack and to be honest, I just use 1 at a time, just roll it in your hand to warm it up tear it in half and press into your ear. It will take shape and hold secure with out being uncomfortable as I find other "harder" plugs to be. They will knock out general noise's like hoovering, talking and TV, but you will still hear the wake up alarm(which is always a good thing). I set my alarm to a high pitch ring tone as this passed through the plug. They may take 2/3 days to get used to them but once you are you'll find them to be perfect requirement to your needs. They may seem pretty expensive but I have tried many, man different types of earplugs( long term night worker here) and not found any that let me sleep in comfort and unbroken hours of sleep due to them falling out or just irritating! They are made from a blue tak kind of material but leave no marks on bed cloths or oily residue, they last approx 3 weeks(3x2 using as described). Try them, give them a couple of days and you won't use anything else. You'll feel more alive and motive at work and not a "miserable old git"(work colleague can be so cruel). Not only can they be used for sleep but also any kind of work related or other noisy environments Ie..I sometimes use them for my motorcycle riding, knocks out wind and traffic noises!

Good product - well worth trying!
I bought these ear plugs as I live below a student house and am constantly subjected to their music, banging around and noise throughout the night. I have used earplugs before (mainly foam ones of various designs) and usually found that they are a little uncomfortable. A particular problem has been that my ears get quite hot and i wake up with the pressure in my head giving me a headache.Having worn these earplugs most nights for a couple of months I can say that they are certainly the best Ive tried. Noise attenuation is very good, obviously earplugs will never completely remove the vibrations of heavy bass tones, but these plugs perform very well across a variety of noises. As they sit slightly outside the ear canal they are comfortable to wear and much easier to sleep in. I know several people have complained about the fit, but I would reiterate the advice that some people have given that it is better to use half of a playdough-esque plug per ear, rather than the entire piece. This works perfectly for me!(also makes them last twice as long).

Best earplugs I have ever used
I live under a flight path and have tried pretty much every kind of earplug there is - foam, wax, silicone, lamella, you name it. I can honestly say these are the most effective and reliable I have ever used. I have found that most types are fiddly to put in, tend to fall out during the night, even if wedged in so hard they hurt, and are basically uncomfortable at the best of times. These however always stay put, and are comfortable to wear - yes you are aware of them in your ears, but much less so than most types - there isn't so much of a pressure feeling. I find with daily use a pair lasts about 4-6 weeks, they are still usable after this but they seem to get a bit less soft and with not quite such a good seal. Of course I'd rather sleep with no earplugs at all, but failing that these are the next best thing.Very highly recommended.

Just Terrible
Now I'm getting rather suspicious with the level of excellent feedback over these ear plugs. I was looking forward to recieving these in the post and finally getting a goods night sleep; after all, with the outstanding reviews here, what could go wrong? First impressions weren't brilliant, the lumps of blue dough were hard and looked very uncomfortable, but after rubbing them between my fingers they eventually softened up. I ignored the sticky residue they left all over my fingers for a while and proceeded to insert them into my ears (FYI, I was following the supplied instructions). The initial reaction was 'ouch', so I took them out and kneaded them until they were almost the consistencey of chewing gum. By this time they already looked disgusting, but I persevered. When they eventually got in, the sound was remarkably dulled, but they still felt swelling and uncomfortable. I even tried breaking bits off thinking that perhaps my lugs were too small, but they were still itchy, hot, painful and by this time looked like something I wouldn't want to touch with gloves, let alone stick in my ears. They were also very hard to get out of the ear as they were warm so bits kept breaking off and I got chunks stuck in to my hair. When I eventually got them out my ear was throbbing and uncomfortable and felt sticky and itchy, my hair had bits of blue beeswax stuck in it, and I was aware I had wasted my money. A few days later I got a lovely big spot in my ear, and I couldn't touch it for days. I think i'll go back to my silicone ones, as at least they didn't look like the result of a bad chest infection after a few minutes use.
