ROBOCOP ROGUE CITY is a Blast 2 Play!!
There is a reason that ROBOCOP: ROGUE CITY is made exclusively for the Next Gen consoles, namely the PS5 and it's because the game packs a serious punch! First thing, ROBOCOP: ROGUE CITY is a stunner in the looks department, the graphics alone are truly impressive and it feels like you're walking through a living breathing city that poses serious danger at every turn on every street corner. It's covered in graffiti, trash litters the streets and there's police tape strewn up around a fresh crime scene... this is New Detroit! A gritty & grimey city thats overrun by the drug peddlers & dealers of nuke, an epidemic thats consumed the city of New Detroit! It's upto YOU, Robocop, to bring justice to the criminals that plague the city streets and make New Detroit safe again for its citizens. The story behind Rogue City isn't anything groundbreaking! But what it does deliver is some pretty solid voice work from the original actors of the first film, actor Peter Weller reprises his iconic role as the half man/half robot Murphy a.k.a ROBOCOP. There's also his female partner in the New Detroit Police Department, Lois. Also, as I've mentioned already with the graphics, which are impressive, the character models are top notch and looks like they've been ripped straight from the movie!!! Gameplay is also pretty solid, one thing it took getting used to is finding cover to avoid enemy gunfire, as you're unable to crouch behind cover! (this is a frustrating design choice, but you get used to it... sort of?) The reason you are unable to crouch is because it doesn't fall in line with the true attributes of Robocop as a character. You're also unable to Jump! These design choices to the gameplay force you to think more like Robocop and for the most part, it works!! The levels are somewhat varied and are loads of fun, Robocops abilities make for an entertaining romp throughout the entire campaign and players are sure to have a blast playing the game!! GRAPHICS : 5/5 pts. STORY : 3/5 pts. CONTROLS : 4/5 pts. GAMEPLAY : 5/5 pts. TOTAL SCORE : 17 |out of| 20 pts. The game is totally worth your time & money!! If you own a PS5, this title is a MUST-OWN to add to your Game Library!

Your move . . . Creep.
My review is for the PlayStation 5 version of this game. As a child, the Robocop theme song was always playing through my head—as I played, as I created—as I did anything I loved. When I saw this game was coming out, I instantly preordered. I have a huge collection of Robocop memorabilia and I still believe it is one of the greatest action films to come out of the 80s—and still one of the greatest of all time. So, take that with a grain of salt. Some of my friends were sure this was going to be a buggy mess—I am happy to say that Alex Murphy returns to cleanse the streets and not a day has passed to wash away this nuke-filled 80s Detroit. We have Peter Weller reprising his role. We have a love for the source material on full display from the developers. And when I was let into the building to begin mowing down thugs at the beginning of the game that old rousing score had a permanent smile on my face until the conclusion of the mission. I have to say, the developers got this right! Now, there are some bugs and some rough edges. I had to restart a mission because my gun site got fastened to my visor at one point. The cutscene characters kind of pop in on PS5–maybe a patch could fix—every NPC punk yells about how you destroyed their hand, and sometimes you can literally launch a biker into space with a robopunch—but this stuff is great. The environmental destruction is a nice touch. The M9 rocks as you would expect, and although Robo is slow, it helps sell the narrative that you are an unstoppable tank. Try not to smile when you marry a punk’s skull with a computer monitor. As a child of the 80s, I have been starved for something that does Robocop justice, and this game has finally given us a sequel to wash the remake and Robocop 3 away. I hope this team sticks with 80s properties or more Robocop! While it is not technical perfection, it is trying to do something that shooters don’t attempt these days. Did I mention Robocop has dialogue options? As a kid I always wanted him to realize his humanity and now I get to do that too! Happy and surprised by this new 80s action dream come true!

To protect and serve
This game is a love letter to the Robocop legacy. You can tell the developers loved Robocop and they did an amazing job. Great graphics, gameplay, voice work, and story. I’m a weekend player and I beat this game on normal difficulty without much problem. Once you beat the game you can start a new game with all your perks and abilities. This game seems to go on forever, there’s just so much to do. Peter lends his legendary voice and jawline to the game. There are some minor graphical and gameplay glitches, but nothing major. I had to restart a few checkpoints due to characters getting stuck or freezing which prevented me from continuing the level. Besides that there’s so much to love, and let’s hope for a sequel. So citizens you must buy this game, or there will be trouble.

A love letter to RoboCop (1987)
I feel like these games only come along once or twice in a decade. Be it Predator: Concrete Jungle, Ghostbusters, Alien: Isolation and now RoboCop: Rogue City there are these instances of games that are made with such a slavish focus on details of the original source material while also serving as a continuation to the story as a sequel would that for a fan of that franchise of films you can feel well and truly satisfied with the production. These types of projects are rare and they only happen once and there are never sequels so with this new RoboCop game I really took my time and savored all the wonderful fan service the devs decided to put into it. Story wise this game takes place between the films RoboCop 2 and RoboCop 3 and they spin a pretty interesting yarn it also explains a few plot holes that the third film had. It definitely had more walking and talking sections than I would have expected from a RoboCop game which didn’t end up being a negative for me. Gameplay is pretty standard old school shooter stuff, it’s basically a mix of the newer Doom games and the original Crysis. I don’t mean to sell it short with that description but how else can you describe being a walking tank with a pistol that absolutely shreds enemies. There is even a mod you can get later into the game that adds even more gore to your shooting, definitely not a game for the squeamish about blood and guts and dismemberment. There are a host of other firearms you can use but I was just having too much fun with the iconic RoboCop gun to really use any of them. It’s got a solid campaign that lasted for around 15 hours and I really took my time and explored everything I could and still found that I missed some things. As of this writing there is no NG+ option and it has a couple of DLCs that only offer cosmetic changes to RoboCop and his pistols appearances. My copy was for the PS5 and I have to warn anyone that at the time of this writing the game is quite buggy on PS5. I experience everything from audio glitches, textures not loading correctly, NPC facial animations not syncing with their dialogue, one colossal instance of frame rate drop, and at one point the game even loaded a completely different level than it was supposed to and left me wandering around thinking it was part of the narrative for a half an hour before I just restarted the game. I know it sounds like a lot but it was over the course of 15 hours and once I learned to just restart the game at the first sign of trouble I didn’t really have an issue afterwards. Hopefully they get it patched and working properly before my second play through.

A great follow up!
One fine game. I was worried when I first started playing, kinda weird controls and Robocop controls like the old tank controls from back in the day but not quite as bad. You actually get to work crime scenes, work the front desk at the police station fielding complaints, missing persons or someone getting their panties in a wad due to their neighbors being “too loud”. Write parking tickets or do a series of side quests like taking a drunk to the drunk tank, it really surprised me how good this game is. Graphics are pretty top notch too running in the Unreal Engine, great lighting, reflections. Some NPC characters their lips don’t match up to what is being spoken on screen but, overlook it. To top it off, it has a little RPG elements thrown in for fun as well. Pick it up whether it’s on sale or full price, you won’t be disappointed. P.S. Peter Weller reprises his roll as ROBOCOP! With some other 1980’s stars. =)

Glad I Went for the Plunge
After reading the reviews on this game both on Amazon and YouTube, I decided to purchase this game . I’m real happy I did. This game is just pure fun. Went thru the first level and got a B rating. Gonna replay it again to try a better rating. Hats off to the developers of this one. I am a big fan of the Peter Weller movies and have never seen the second one. After trying out this game, I will be purchasing the second movie….already own the first one. The game may not be a triple A title but who cares. Developers are fans of the movies and did the game justice. There was a lot of care and patience that went into this game to make it feel like you are Robocop from the first two flicks. I also have their Terminator game coming for the ps5. Can’t wait to give that one a try as well. Thanks Teyon for a job well done. I’ll be watching for future titles from you. Thanking Amazon for speedy shipping and great packaging.

BUY IT
If you like Robocop this game is amazing. If you love ford taurus's you will also love it. Cut scenes are long and game is very interactive. Controls and weapons are pretty cool.

Good game
This game is very fun. Has lots of cool features, but one thing takes me out of the game sometimes. Seems a little ridiculous that in a heavily crime ridden city that most of the criminals are white. Maybe an update can make that more realistic.
