To my surprise, the lamp turned off after 20 MINUTES. Engaging the on-off switch did not help. Other devices using the same connection continued functioning. I appreciated the 5 ft cord. I was willing to take the extra precautions due to the long term high surface temperature of the lamp. However, I definitely do NOT RECOMMEND this lava lamp..
