I don’t know about spiders but it works great for mosquitoes. Since it is used in organic farming, on golf courses and playgrounds it might repel other insects. It doesn’t kill, they just don’t like it.

Q: What does the "2000" mean? The label doesn't say 2000, nor does the actual website at mosquitobarrier.com. Are these old products?

Not sure what the 2000 means either. Maybe it means the latest mosquito product to come out in the 2000's that doesn't work or maybe it is the 2000th product that is supposed to repel mosquitoes that doesn't work.

Q: Do you use this product full strength or what is the dilution ratio?

I use the "standing water" formula even in my sand pit of a yard. 6 oz of mosquito barrier, 2 oz of canola oil, and a bit (tsp. per 2 gal. I think) of dawn. Apply once 1/4 of a gal per 1/2 ac. two weeks in a row. Then, apply once monthly after that. This give me a livable outside space, when before it was unbearable due to the flocks of mosquito.

Q: Does the spray expire? How long is it effective for?

Per the manufacturers website: Put the lid on tight, store it in a cool place and it should last for about two years. In a refrigerator at 40 degrees, it will last several years. One gallon of Mosquito Barrier is enough for the whole Summer mosquito season. Sprayed every 3 weeks, for the average half acre residential lot, one gallon is enough for 10 applications,
