I prefer this to metal. The wood quickly forms to your grill grates and is an excellent and non-scratching scraper.

I find this to be well-made and substantial. It's sturdy enough to be long lasting. The cleaning bristle end works really well on my grill. The size of it is appropriate and the bristles are strong and clean well. I do prefer this to the metal ones.

This brush definitely has a different feel to it. It is big, first of all. The handle is long, and the head itself is a big square with long bristles. It is not too heavy, but it has a different "balance" to it. It will take some getting used to, as others have pointed out.While I really like the idea that I don't have to think about bits of metal getting stuck on the grates, I noticed that, even being fairly careful, a couple of bristles were already coming off. They are easy to see, though, and easy to blow off. I wonder, though, about the longevity of this tool.It worked, but it wasn't a miracle, or even close. It works as well as the metal brush. The edge is also a scraper. It seems fairly easy to keep clean, and I like the loop at the end rather than a metal hook. Easy.I wish we could give half stars. I'm giving this a 4, but it is really a 3.5. Just a little better than average.

Came across this brush when looking for a non-metal alternative that was not cold-clean only.Overall, the brush works well but has a few things that brought it to a 4 star for me. **edited to 5 after using it longer and giving it more of a chance.Pros:- Prevents risk associated with metal bristle brushes- Very sturdy build- Large brush head made cleaning quicker- Cleaned very well and I was able to use this on direct heat (lump wood charcoal) - attached picture shows the left grate cleaned by the brush and the right grate not yet cleanedCons:- The brush does snag sometimes where the horizontal and vertical grates meet because the bristles are very stiff (this got better the more i used it & improved with less force..) But, I often found myself using smaller strokes to avoid the snagging- You have to be careful to avoid direct flame (it is wood after all..). I pulled a few bristles off to test and they ignite very fast when exposed to direct flame. However, you can use this brush on direct heat and should expect to be a little more cautious with a brush of this style anywayI will definitely continue to use this brush in place of my old metal brushes unless something changes!Edit:I've continued using this and even brushed directly over an open flame.. as long as you aren't holding it to a flame I'm not concerned about it catching anymore. The more I use this the more I like it. It still snags a little at the cross sections but thats a very small price to pay. I will definitely not be going back to my old metal scrapers any time soon.
