Trife is a 15-year-old West Londoner, torn between doing the right thing and mounting peer pressure to do the opposite. His circle of friends are not the only negative influence in his life: his uncle, too, seems to be leading him astray. When a tragedy involving a young girls suicide forces the school to close, Trife and his classmates are faced with extracurricular activities like gang violence, drugs and casual sex. KIDULTHOOD paints a fairly bleak picture of what it must be like growing up on the wrong side of the tracks, but manages to offset the popular image of antisocial youths, with the deeply troubled, emotionally frail human beings they really are. Aml Ameen, who plays Trife, is convincing as a young boy desperately trying to escape his circumstances and not end up a victim. KIDULTHOOD takes its cue from such socially-conscious films as KIDS and packs a powerful, disturbing punch. The soundtrack features contributions from urban acts Dizzee Rascal, Kano, and The Streets.

Brilliant, an eye opener
This film is realistic, raw and shocking, but with the way youths are carrying on today it needs to be. It gives a realistic reflection of some of the issues kids have to deal with as well as the lack of guidance they have, as some of the parents' characters in the film turn a blind eye to what is going on. The film itself has a brilliant plot covering a number of storylines throughout. The acting is amazing considering the faces are not recognisable and the directing is raw and edgy. A film like this needs to be publicised more because with all the negative issues being highlighted in the press, such as gun crime, the media fails to cover the deep rooted issues behind why kids fall into this behaviour. It may be a sad film but its true to life and that is what makes it even more sad.

SO REAL and BOLD and JUST SPOT ON!
*+*+ If you're a teenager or a young adult, this ones for you! *+*+-->> I first heard about this film through my mates. I then bought it and its one of the best films,in my opinion of course.. The actors played really well. and if you're one of them youths or teens who "rolls on the road" this ones for you. The films just perfect for teenagers and lots of funny bits and serious ones as well.-->> DONT BUY IT if you are not modern or "up-to-date" because you won't understand the language as its all "blad, kuzin, wasteman". So dont buy it if you think you wont be able to connect or get in to it and then you'd leave a bad review then other people who might like it would think this films crap. But the truth is IT AINT. and you know it.

A youths life
This film is Excellent, one of the best british films made. It shows what the kids of today have to cope with on a daily basis, it covers so much, bullying, gangs and weapons. The film uses the slang of todays youth, unlike shameless which makes this film even better. some films like green street are let down due to the fake accents and wording. Some members here have slated the film beacause they dont understand it. i dont know about others but it would have been obvious that the film wont contain dictionary english just by looking at the cover. Terms like 'BRAP BRAP' 'WASTEMAN' and 'BLOOD' is what makes the film so realistic.I highly recommend this film. It will open your eyes to a youths life. it might help people to understand and help youths instead of branding them 'Hoodies' and pushing them away

a suprisingly good film
ive just finished watchin this film at school and i have to say i was suprised to find that it was actually really good.i am not one for gangster films and do not consider myself a chav, but i enjoyed this film and am now going to buy it.the repetitiveness of 'blud' and 'breh' and the rest of the chavvy lingo does become progressively annoying, but can be put up with. the only thing that confused me was the constant 'boxfresh' logo on caps and hoodies and shirts etc. was this film sponsored by boxfresh?i would definetly recommend this film to anyone who is concerned with todays youthful society

MORE A DOCUMENTARY
I bought this expecting a feature film. instead amazon seem to have sent me a documentary about sub-cultural gangs in London. My wife an I endeavored to get the subtitles working but gave up in despair. We could not understand a word. (The underclass ladies and gents in this documentary certainly do not speak the Queen's English that we use here in Henley on Thames.)The documentary ends with a murder -to which neither the director nor the camera crew intervene. I was not expecting one of those snuff movies and nobody even attempts to call the police after an obvious homicide. There are also numerous scenes of drug taking and under age sex. I have posted my copy to the Editor of the Daily TelegraphHowever, I am not surprised that the BBC continues to waste licence payer's money on such filth .
