NETGEAR WiFi 6 Mesh System (RBK863S),

The connection is stable and the WiFi signal is excellent throughout the whole house. I can separate networks into IoT, Guest and the main network. I’m able to use Home Assistant via lan and control my IoT devices via Home Assistant. I have just over 30 devices and the Orbi 860 can handle them all without any connection drop outs. I get the advertised ISP speed throughout my whole house while on WiFi which is very impressive. The setup was easy and didn’t take long. You can choose to configure the router via the app, or via a web interface if you need more advanced options. I have to be honest that this is a pricey router and you can get a separate subscription for realtime protection or parental controls. I would argue that parental controls should be included without a subscription. I also hate that there is any type of subscription after paying a lot of money for this Orbi 860.

Setting up and connecting all my devices was easy and best of all, worked first time.The signal strength and speed in all rooms is very good.Very happy.

I got the matt black ones. Fingerprint magnets so careful when setting up. Wiping with IPA takes off the matt coating very easily so don’t do that.Units are large and also heavy, nearly 1kg each.App is limited in functionality, however, Web GUI served by each router/satellite has way more functionality.Fast connections and once connected it stays connected. It doubled my wifi file transfer rates.Four ethernet ports on each device allows for flexibility to hardwire more. My PSUs are 12V 3.5A which is different to spec. No annoying status lights on the front once setup and working.Only gripes, price and the fact that you can’t specify which DNS server to use for DHCP clients so when using PiHole all requests come from router address only.If you want a network that is stable, fast and doesn’t require rebooting every week to fix weird problems then this is an option.

Replaced an older Netgear Nighthawk router which was struggling with the coverage.Before I was getting 35mb in our living room with 1Gb Community Fibre. Now I’m getting about 750 mb wireless.It’s a pretty pricey piece of kit but if you’re struggling with speeds and coverage this is what you need.

Very easy and straightforward set-up. Works well with Virgin Media Hub 4. Much better range than anticipated. Maybe start with one satellite (RBK862) and see whether a second one is needed, before splashing out on the RBK863

Works perfectly out of the box, great app interface and provides everything I wanted it for - Ethernet connections from satellites, big coverage area and no drop off in speed

Update: i down graded to the RBR850 read below the problems i had with RBR860. Thus was September 2023 all has been fine until a firmware update a short while ago. Im now getting the same problem i has with the rbr860’s. Satellites dropping going out of sync less than 5m from router, can only sync placing next to the router even though i have a blue led in its position and normally show connection good. Its almost as if they used the same firmware. I get various satellites added to my system that dint exists, they simply show as not connected you have to log into the router to delete. Sometimes in app it shows no devices connected to satellites but many are. All in all for this amount of money not happy still under warranty so I'm trying netgear support. But nothing worst than unreliable wifi!!!!Well for a B product that costs this much you’d expect reliability. My problem is I have had the product with 2 satellites installed for 3 weeks, it is now the third time one of the satellites has gone offline. Pressing sync doesn’t bring it back. Only way is to unplug it and plug it back in. This is not good I shouldn’t have to do this. I have 2 weeks to decide now, I will ring netgear support tomorrow but I think I need to return before I go past the return date. Great bit of kit I even subscribed to the protection for a year but I need stability. I have read anywhere others having this problem so is it a hardware fault? Lot of money. The mesh system is great works really well.Update: I tried to register product with netgear for support as had more problems. Low and behold it was already registered so couldn’t get support. It was now last return date, I spoke to Amazon what a great company, no problem told me to return the product, which I have. I ordered the Orbi 850 as new and cheaper, had a few problems getting my netgear Armor moved across as laid hot a year, but a few phone calls sorted. The 850 has been 100% reliable no problems at all. To be honest not sure what you get for the £300 difference to the Orbi 860. But now I am happy, think to be honest the Amazon warehouse Orbi 860 must of been faulty and had been returned by previous owner.

I am astounded at the extra performace over my previous Tp-Link Deco mesh system. The Deco system was forever dropping out and intermittent, so far the Orbi has been in a different league and proves you get what you pay for

NETGEAR è sinonimo di qualità, da sempre. La connessione offerta da questo sistema mesh è sempre stabile, fluida e veloce, consentendomi di raggiungere velocità in download (considerando un contratto internet a 2.5 Gbit) superiori al Gbit per ogni dispositivo dotato di Wi-Fi 6.Tuttavia, penso che il più grande neo sia legato all'applicazione per smartphone, senza dubbio non all'altezza di un prodotto di tale posizionamento (economico e prestazionale). Dotata di una grafica a dir poco arcaica, spesso si blocca o regala interminabili fasi di caricamento. Questa è la causa per cui non posso attribuire la quinta stella a questo articolo.

Ces produits sont très chers mais ils font le travail comme des pros. Dans ma maison vaste, j'avais toujours des problèmes de wifi à l'étage à cause d'une dalle en béton très épaisse, la base Orbi et son répétiteur l'ont parfaitement résolu. Tout le monde peut visionner des films en même temps dans les chambres à l'étage!

Installation demande un peu de temps mais ça vaut la peine.
