Medicinal Essential Oils: The Science and Practice of Evidence-Based Essential Oil Therapy

This is a MUCH needed reference in the field of essential oils. I have studied oils for some time and have tons of reference books. They eitherntned to be so technical that they are useless (I sold one of those) or some fluffy that there is no meat. The book is a great bridge. It is readable to the lay person and hugely USEABLE! That said, there is MORE than enough solid science and technical data to keep any scientific or medically minded person busy for a long time! Very oil is discussed in detail with analysis and information regarding what makes a good oil and how to use it. As usually Dr Johnson does nothing without footnotes everywhere! That is why I have lived about his books. The information is very practical, but nothing is printed without a SOLID scientific foundation. If you are at all serious about oils you need this book!!

It has everything you need to reference or learn all in one neatly organized book.From profiles of individual oils, cautions and drug interactions, to specific ailments and dosing.Well written for the advanced user and beginner alike.If only this book had come out before I wasted my money on at least 10 other books that disappointed. The other books combined don't have as much information as this one book.Seriously, it is worth the $150 price tag. I couldn't be happier!If I had to complain about anything it would be the texture of the paper. It feels like 20lb copy paper. Given the size of the book and number of pages though, nicer paper would have made the book way too heavy.

Love this book. I am studying to be a clinician and it's very comprehensive and thorough. Might be a lot for a beginner, but super valuable information. I highly recommend it.

This book is a must have for any serious essential oil user. As a nurse I want to make sure that I am being safe when using essential oils for my family. I've been using oils since 2014 and this is the best resource that I have found in obtaining the information that I am looking for. Thank you Dr Johnson for the research that you compile for us to develop this wonderful resource.

I find this “heavy” book an awesome resource while I am studying to become an aromatherapist.

It's big but it's the best

The author has done an exhaustive review of the essential oil literature and presented it in this well organized volume. I especially appreciate the section on detailed cancer information. Even with its large size, it is easy to locate the information you are looking for because it is so well organized.

This book is an extensive review of essential oils, their properties and their uses. The author has perused the literature and presents results of scientific tests. The book is huge and heavy, so it may not suit people whose interest is limited, but for the serious student of essential oils, this book in invaluable.

Absolutely amazing book! Over 1000 pages of scientific based information on essential oils. This book should be your goto book for information on essential oils. Well written and easy to use.
