I got this electronic drum set for my husband’s birthday, and we both love it! It’s good quality for the price and has been a great addition to our home. Easy to put together and has great sound. I got this set to learn how to play drums and I think it's a really great beginner set.

This is my very first drum kit so I really can’t say whether or not being better than other brands but Roland has been making instruments forever so I figured they could get this right. Relatively easy to put together, instructions were good. It’s smaller than I thought it would be but it’s perfect size for the corner of the room. It sounds great with or without headphones. I bought an amplifier to go with it bc why not? I like t hear my music loud lol. I’m new to drumming in general but I feel like the pads could have been bigger but the smaller pad requires accuracy when striking. I’m not confident in my HH pedal, it seems to be hit or miss when peddling it but Roland is working with me on this issue. I do not regret this purchase at all. I have started taking lessons to learn faster. Udemy and YouTube have been great resources for me to play with. I’m having a ton of fun playing this drum kit.

I agonized over buying this one (TD-02K) or the next higher level one (TD-02KV). From my research, the only differences were the snare (TD-02KV has a two zone mesh snare) and different stands (TD-02KV has a bigger stand with more spread). Both have the same module). I went with the TD-02K because of the smaller footprint and because I didn’t need the two zone snare. I love this kit! The sounds are great! You get 16 kits. You can’t edit them or create new kits from what I see. But these are really great and have professional sounding samples. Which is important because I’m using it for recording. If I need a side snare sound, I can easily grab a sound I need from EZ DRUMMER or a wav CD. The stand is solid and well designed. It was easy to put together. I started recording right away into my Apollo with no problem. I’ve owned a lower end DDRUM kit, a DONNER kit, and a YAMAHA kit. This ROLAND is the best of them all. Any future kits I get I will stick with ROLAND without a doubt. And if I want I can always upgrade the snare, possibly the hi hat and definitely the Roland kick tower. So the options are there!

There are better cheap beginner brands out there.

Sounds great, no real complaints. Only improvement I would like to see is a sturdier 1/4" output jack instead of the 3.5mm ones they use for output/input.

It has a good response rate, you'll have to get a PA system for it though. It's missing snare rim and cymbal bells but that's why you pay the big bucks for the other drum kits. Pretty great for beginners.

I purchased this drum kit for my son for Christmas ‘24. It was simple enough to set up for someone that had no idea what they were doing. The instructions were easy to follow. After nearly a year of use it is still going strong and we have not had any problems with it at all. Would recommend.
