Very Sturdy and Comfy
This is surprisingly well made for the price. The seat is thick, firm, and comfortable. The hardware, including the thick rubber feet; is heavy duty. So, yes, this is a bit on the heavy side. But you can sit firm and comfortable for a long time banging out the jams. The seat height can be adjusted precisely because of the long screw shaft. Then, because of a smart locking plate configuration, you can secure your seat height so that it doesn't drift. Genius! (That's what the included drum key is for: it tightens the locking mechanism so the screw shaft doesn't turn.) Highly recommended!

Sturdy, comfortable stool
Im not going to ruin the perfect 5 star rating. This is a great throne. The stool is super sturdy. It's very heavy. It comes packaged well and shouldn't receive any shipping damage. The seat is very large compared to other thrones I've used. It has a nice feel. The cover is nice, not slick and seems durable. The rubber feet are very large and do not slip. This throne will support whatever weight they claim it would. It's very well put together. The black plastic parts are a high density, durable material. The center post easily clears the floor. If you've had a stool where the center post touches the floor, you'll know why this is important. The throne is very easy to assemble and use. The seat will not slip. On some thrones you can leave the seat loose on the center post and have the seat swivel. Not on this throne. If you leave the post clamp loose the seat will swivel but it might wobble. This throne works best if the seat is fixed. The only problem I had with the stool is the Amazon/manufacturer's description. The minimum height is 19 inches and not the claimed 16.93 inches in the description. I removed the post and placed the seat directly on the base - 19 inches. I needed something in the 17 inch range. Still, I would highly recommend this throne. It's really nice, just not for me.

Looks good
I bought this chair as a back up to my rock soc so I haven’t actually used it on a gig or a long session. It seems to be real sturdy. However I’ve had it for a short period so it’s about all I can say at this point.

A pleasant surprise!
I rarely leave reviews, but, I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of this drum throne. It has a nice, thick, wide seat and the vinyl cover is soft--nice faux leather feel. The thing is heavy and solid. If I have to make a complaint, it's that some of the parts are plastic (also to be found on much more expensive "name brand" drum thrones). I kind of settled on this one from Demonic Sweaters review on YouTube. I'd post the link, but, Amazon will strip out the link. If you want to watch it, go to his channel and search Starfavor Drum Throne.

Heavy-duty, sturdy, and comfortable
I would have rated this 5 stars, had it come with instructions. It may be that all the fasteners are common to most drum thrones, but this was my first, so I had to figure it out myself. Initially, the seat wobbled, but I was able to remedy that eventually. There may be a better way to assemble this thrown; all I can tell you is what I did. There are a half dozen fasteners, half of which can be tightened with your fingers (wingnuts), one that requires a drum key (included), and two for which you will need a wrench or pliers. The one at the bottom, for securing the legs, is pretty self-explanatory. For the two at either end of the screw, one on the seat and one on the pedestal, tighten first the one requiring the wrench, then finish with the wingnut. Mount the screw into the seat, then, with the bottom fasteners slightly loose, adjust the height by turning the seat. When it's all set, wrap the chrome collar around the screw and line up the tab with the notch in the pedestal. Tighten all the fasteners, the remaining one that requires the wrench first, then the wing nut and drum key screw.Hope this helps, but I imagine most probably already know how to do this, and as I said, there may be a better procedure than this.

Great comfort
I'm using this as a practice stool to learn guitar. I was looking for a comfortable well padded stool as I weight 300 pounds. This stool is well padded with high density foam and offers an exceptional comfort level. This is a pro level drummer (and guitar player) seat. Great value for the money!

Seat cushion quite soft
The seat cushion is quite soft. So it could either be what you’re looking for or not. It is sturdy for the most part.
