Connects new MIDI USB with old MIDI with data in/out indicators for keyboard and guitar.
Works perfectly bringing new 'MIDI Guitar 2' software through Garageband to the old 5 pin din MIDI on my old Logic Audio on Windows 98. Exellent for guitarists who don't play keyboard but still want notation printout from any software capable of creating notation from MIDI input. Logic Audio is the original version of Logic Pro X. Logic Audio was preceded by Emagic Notator on the Atari computer. Even now the older Logic programs produce notation as good as the latest version but at a considerable saving in cost. The Zacro USB MIDI Cable Interface High Quality IN-OUT MIDI Cable Converter, Professional PC/Laptop/Mac is absolutely perfect for the job at an excellent price. Thank you so much for making a superb product available for a very important process known only to guitarists who have waited more than 20 years for the ability to play an ordinary electric guitar and turn it into MIDI data. Brilliant!

Great for amateur fun!
I'm a complete noob and managed to get my Windows 10 PC to connect up to my 25 year old Yamaha Clavinova just fine. I attached the cable marked OUT to the piano's IN and the cable marked IN to the piano's OUT. Then plugged the USB end into my PC. All drivers installed automatically. Then I used CoolSoft's free MIDIMapper to assign the device (it shows up as "USB Midi") as the Default MIDI device for the computer. In less than an hour I was fooling my family that I could play the piano like a virtuoso by playing midi files out from the PC using MIDI-OX's MIDIBar player (you have to assign USB Midi as the output device). Then I downloaded the free Dexed synth VST onto the PC and used my Clavinova to pretend it was a Yamaha DX-7, playing out through Reaper. Loads of fun playing with synth patches. What a load of fun for not a lot of money!

Utter Crap, avoid
If you have any respect for your instruments, please do yourself a favour and buy a branded, reputable Midi interface. After trying to get this to work unsuccessfully (a few instruments connected and working together with the interface in the loop, it was intermittently picking up the odd note at random) I decided to take a look inside as I was outside of my return window. This interface does not comply to midi standards. The midi input is not opto-isolated, and when connected to some instruments will pick up a ground loop, which gives a constant input signal. Midi inputs should be opto-isolated for safety of your equipment (maintaining isolation and a 5mA current loop) and reliability of communications. The Midi clock speed also varies on this device, so sending data can be hit and miss. I have measured the output at between 30kbs and 33kbs. Midi Standard is 31.25kbs +/- 1% (31562.5bps and 30937.5bps) So the clock speed is out quite considerably, which accounts for the fact it sometimes receives and transmits midi messages, but it is very hit and miss as to when it does.

Quite flashy
Does what I need it to attaches an iPad to Yamaha keyboard (with Apple attachment too). The only down side is it keeps flashing pink and blue when it’s plugged into the iPad which is a bit distracting.

Working without issue.
Using to connect an Midi Compatible keyboard to my PC / DAW.Absolutely no complaints. Receives and send data flawlessly, have not had an issue with latency etc it and have been using it for a month or so now.The pulsating light indicating it is active is a little bright in the evening but I don't have a problem with it as reassured me it is on and working, besides can be easily hidden.Lead is quite long which is great and all seems to be a well made and quality product.

Works perfectly with my old Yamaha Clavinova CLP-120
I ordered this cable for my old Yamaha Clavinova CLP-120 digital piano which introduced in 2002. Inherently it has an old type of MIDI interface. I primarily use this cable to connect my Macbook Pro (13-inch, Late 2011, MacOS 10.13.6) to the piano with GarageBand. I could say it's a real plug and play cable. It didn't require any additional driver or software to install. There is no latency in Garageband and a little in MuseScore 3. I haven't tested with other application yet. I can recommend this cable.

Plug and play - easy!
Superb - I bought for use with the Simply Piano app on my iPad and midi to my keyboard and it was as easy as plug and play! I just used a standard USB to lightning adapter which worked no problem. Delighted - would highly recommend to anyone - I am a complete novice to piano and even I managed to get the plugs in the right way (in to our and out to in etc)

Doesn’t work with windows 10 ver2004 (latest version)
So this was to connect a guitar multi effects unit to my pc. My pc is running windows 10. The opening advert says windows 10 is supported. I received the cable and the packaging looked worst for wear, inside was a wrinkled up instruction on how to connect. It also said support for windows up to windows 7.. not 10. I thought ok this might be an oversight or it’s since been upgraded. So I connected it all up. Windows saw it eventually as usb20midi... but it didn’t work at all. I googled as you do for help.. and all the results say the device windows found as usb20midi is not supported and there is no driver out there. So no good for me as it doesn’t work as intended with windows 10 regardless of the advert details
