My mistake for not paying attention to the description. It is not clear but black. It can be quite noticeable on tree trunks but it does work very well to keep the harmful insects away from the pruned areas.

I noticed this past spring that my bushes were the main entrée for the deer all winter. They had no bark on the bottom half, and I was worried they would die if I didn't do something. This was easy to use. It's black, so you can see exactly what you're spraying. The only downside is, if it's windy make sure you cover anything you don't want overspray on. I happened to get some on our new white downspouts, but was able to easily clean it off with some acetone before my husband noticed. The bushes look great, and made a full recovery.
