When pressing the button to illuminate, does it make a click or is it silent?

It clicks - not loud but audible.

Is this illuminated 24 hours a day?

No. There is a button on top of the clock to illuminate for a short time.

How well does this keep the time? Is it accurate, or are there issues with it running fast or slow?

Have only had clock for a short time but have had no problems with it running fast or slow. I like the size because it can fit just about anywhere.
