Changing upholstery color - works like a charm!
This is an amazing product!!!! I bought a vintage wicker chair that had an upholstered box seat cushion. The existing cushion color was unattractive. I priced out getting the cushion reupholstered but it was quite expensive. I then found Fabricoat and thought I could make the cushion look new by using this paint applied product. It worked so well!!!! I needed two bottles to complete the job. The paint was easy to apply, and was quickly absorbed into the canvas duck fabric. In the dark brown color I chose for the cushion, it looks like new! I am so impressed with this product for changing the color of the upholstered cushion. I highly recommend this product.

Brilliant performance
Fabulous item. I purchased a canvas and leather purse off eBay. It had a couple stains I didn’t want to look at. This product covered and colored the heavy canvas easily (not to mention the dark blue is a perfect match to the original blue leather, which I have not touched with any color). It will take some time, and touch up. But I’m very pleased. Remember to use a mist bottle to slightly dampen the fabric first, that’s the key to thorough and even saturation.

Great for Carpet Repair
One of the housekeepers spilled bleach on the carpet I used this pen to repair the spot. It worked amazing literally saved thousands of dollars..

Ok
Paint is really good, I painted the cushions of my kitchen chairs but I needed one more bottle to actually make it look good but this is just too expensive to keep buying and you have to do touch ups over time as well so be aware of that.

Easy to use fabric paint
I tried to dye these chairs with Rit Dye first. I did three rounds but it just all washed out so I finally decided to paint the fabric. This had great coverage. I did one coat and then touched up areas with a second coat. I used a paint brush and then a soft bristle brush to go over it…I put this on my drill to speed up the process. It worked really well. The chairs do not feel painted. The color is spot on and covered pink pretty well.

Achieve beautiful results with 3-4 coats
Impressed with the dye. It took me 4 coats (1.5 bottles) applied over 3 days to dye the original fabric on this 45 year old Hickory Chair gooseneck chair. I thoroughly cleaned the old fabric. I moistened the fabric and applied the first coat. After drying 24 hours I applied the second- 4 th coat over 2 days. Once dried applied 3 coats of Scotch guard fabric sealer. There is no need to mask finish wood parts as the dye wipes off wood with a moist cloth. Pour dye in a container and apply as directed with a good quality nylon brush. Dye is the consistency of jelly and cleans up with water.

covers less than advertised, not color-fast when you clean it.
i bought this to paint patio cushions that were water stained, even after cleaning. Rather than replace them, a friend suggested I paint them with Fabric Paint. The cushions were off-white and I thought a richer color like burgundy would hide stains better and compliment the color scheme of my patio. 1. MAKE SURE YOU SPRAY/DAMPEN the fabric before you paint. It covers more. On the upside, you'll see your mistake pretty quickly. I noticed lack of coverage within the first few stokes, but that section of the cushion is darker than the rest. 2. It took twice as much as I anticipated. Roughly $150 worth. I had to reorder 3 times to cover 2 patio chairs (seat and back), 3 (large) bottom cushions and 2 backs to my semi-circular patio "couch". (Even after spraying the last 95% of the job). 3. I finished the cushions about 3 weeks ago. They've been out in the dry heat of Phoenix for all that time. Since we're into summer and I won't be using my patio until fall, I went to clean and store my cushions. Most required just beating the dust away, but one had water stains. I tried to spray it with a water hose, but there was still residue. So I tried to wipe the stain away. Instead my cloth turned burgundy as the color wiped off. Now I'm worried about cleaning them and having a guest sit on a not-quite-dry one and having a stain on their --- bottom ---. Bottom Line - I was ok with everything (including the expense) until color rubbed off on my cloth. I'll store the cushions for the summer and retest them in the fall. If the color still rubs off when wet, I'll have to pitch them and buy new ones, bearing both the expense of the new ones and loss of $ from buying Fabric Paint - and adding to the landfill <cringe>.

It works but not ideal
We have a very comfortable older black chair and ottoman that the finish wore off of the fabric. Since we enjoyed the chair so much we decided to try this black paint as a possible solution. The directions say to moisten the fabric, apply the product and brush while drying to prevent stiffening. I did the ottoman first as directed and it came out nice but the fabric was fairly stiff, though still somewhat flexible. Since this paint is more of a thick gel, almost like jello than a paint I decided to thin it with water before doing the chair. This did help but after brushing it as it dried it still stiffened the fabric and it's noticeable when you feel it. On the good side, it covered pretty well and the chair looks much better, it dries overnight and there's no odor to it. There doesn't appear to be any color transfer of the dried product onto clothing and if you not worried about the way the fabric feels it may be worth a try just don't expect a complete renewal of the material.

It is very good product.
I have folowed intructions how to use. It came up very good. I had jacket that outer layer fall apart. I had clean it and use this paint and it worked perfectly. I got wet in the rain, paint stand as new. I highly recomend it. P.S. color of fabric that I painted on, was light green. Now it is nice black. First picture show how it was before. Second how it looks after painting.

Bra
