When I used to buy this lipstick everywhere people would say 'Girl, that's YOUR lipstick!' It was removed from stores at about the time that hideously bone-dry matte lipstick started taking over. If I'd known L'Oreal would once again get rid of the shiny lipstick I loved (I'm STILL bitter about the removal of Sheer Sable in the burgundy/gold tube... THIRTY YEARS AGO!) in about the only shade that really makes my cool deep auburn hair, vampire-pale skin, and prasiolite-green eyes POP! (Seriously, few shades flatter and fewer still are produced in a formula I can stand to have on my mouth), I'd have raced all over town buying up every tube I could find. True Story: BEFORE my lipstick started vanishing I was talking to a sales girl at Ulta about why I love it. They sold it there and she didn't seem impressed by the tubes of Varnished Rosewood in the store - so I whipped mine out and applied it. She said "Wow. That's about REALLY pretty.... Looks a lot nicer on...." It was funny because she kept looking at the tube like she couldn't believe it LOOKED like that. I get it. It looks like pink in the tube and pinks always look super fake on. Butas I explained to her, VR has brown undertones that bring the temperature down and soften the effect. The shiny formula helps, also. Until I found the L'Oreàl store HERE I'd found a pretty good substitute in the form of Revlon's Glass Shine (I bought three shades, #009 being my favorite). Then THAT was discontinued also (I'm cursed). I then discovered The Revlon Store here so... thank God for Amazon! I continue to buy BOTH the L'Orèal AND the Revlon and hope Amazon, as a buying option for BOTH brands/formulas never ends. Like with bras and jeans, once you find The One(s) that work with YOUR UNIQUE COLORING, you always come back to it until it's gone. Then you mourn its loss forever (Sheer Sable 🤬). But THIS formula in Varnished Rosewood is still my most perfect lipstick.... though I wish L'Oreàl would stop with the notched tube. It's dangerous to fumble with when slapping on your lips while driving.... 🙄

This lipstick has totally earned a spot in my everyday makeup bag. I picked up the shade Glossy Fawn, and it’s the perfect sheer nude with just enough color to look polished without trying too hard. The formula feels more like a balm than a lipstick—super hydrating with a smooth, buttery glide. It gives that fresh, glossy finish without being sticky, and it doesn’t cling to dry patches (huge win for me). Plus, the packaging feels luxe for a drugstore find.

I really like this lipstick. It is just sheer enough to impart color without a sticky mess. Very moisturizing. Pretty color. (I was looking for a dupe for Clinique Different Ripe Raisin. This is fairly close.) The plastic tube is pretty but there is only one way it can be closed. There is a small notch that must be lined up. Pretty tube but no audible click when it closes. A small thing.

I really like this lipstick and the shade of it. Gives a nice natural look of color with a slight barely there shimmer. It really brightens up your appearance. I don't like heavy bright colors and stay on lipsticks that are thick and dry. This is really nice stuff and I'll buy it again. Maybe in a few other shades too. What I really like about this lipstick is that it's such a nice shade that you can slap it on with a little mascara when your pressed for time and still look good. Very easy to carry and freshen up when needed. I'm a smoker so of course I would have to re apply even a color stay lipstick. It washes off nicely too. No need to scrub your lips hard like you have to do with thicker lipsticks.

This lipstick is consistent in its quality, moist and applies easily. Each time I order it, I know what I’m getting. I love this color, number 904; it matches my skin tone, and brightens my look without overpowering. I keep several tubes of this lipstick on hand and plan to purchase again.

Took off a star because the first time I ordered only the cap of the lipstick came in the box . The second time product was not sealed and had stains on the outside . Bit gross . Lipstick looked intact inside so I kept it . I don’t know why the product is not sealed better when it comes. Makes one think it’s been used . Usually a store product would have a sticker or a plastic wrapper to keep it sealed for sanitary purpuses. Product itself is nice . Medium glossy, smells like raspberries, moisturizing and pretty color but won’t last too long . Colors on pictures are misleading but buying makeup online is always a risk .

This is my daily lipstick. It's perfect for daytime as well as night. Perfect color on me regardless of whether my hair is lighter in the Summer or darker during the Fall and Winter. It has very good staying power, too!

I purchased 2 lipsticks. These are definitely not new! Both are in disgusting condition. One lipstick had chunks taken out of the top with lipstick smeared inside of the lid. Both lipsticks had marks (either from someone’s finger or lips) on the sides.

My new go-to lippy at the moment. Love just about everything about it including the fact that it doesn't have that usual icky L'Oreal smell. Please keep in mind that lipsticks this glossy just can't last; anyone who's ever worn lipstick before knows this. It's super-juicy and yes it will come off on anything and everything, so eyes wide open here. Don't "take a star off" because it ended up on your coffee cup, or, because you didn't like how the colour looked on you. We all take a chance here with online ordering and for some it works out. If it didn't suit your skin tone, it's unfortunate but no fault of the lipstick, just an unlucky guess. It's a decent quality drugstore lipstick! That said, Varnished Rosewood is a very pretty colour that seems would suit many fair-skinned complexions. Beware though, it is also slick and transfers easily. But I'm very happy with this lipstick and i hope you will be too.

I love this series, I have a bunch of them, they are on the lips so beautiful and juicy. Very hydrating. A lot of colors are flattering like Glossy Fawn, etc. Enamel Red is surprisingly pigmented, I love this Snow-Whitey red color. For the brighter colors you might need to look often to reapply. I bought Vanished Rosewood on Amazon because I can't see it in drugstores, this became one of my favorite lipstick, my lips but better, very pretty.

Moisturizing, not very pigmented but that's fine. Have to reapply avery 2 hours or after eating
