If this is Japanese quality Engineering then they have certainly let themselves go.
I have quite a few tools made by this company and they are mostly good, but these things they have sent me well, there is way to much play in the joint which means the ends of the Pliers are out. I am going to assume this pair is a one off and I will order another pair from Amazon, but if they have the same problem they are going straight back and the love affair with Engineer Tools will be over.***UPDATE 07 Sep 22***2nd pair of pliers have arrived from Amazon. There is still noticeable play in the Pliers but is a lot better than the first pliers they sent me. I will keep these as the play is just about acceptable and I do need them. It is obviously down to the design of hinge joint of the Pliers and Engineer Tools need to upgrade this. When you get it right Engineer Tools send a replacement for these.

Not Great
Not as impressed by these as I have been by other pliers by same manufacturer. They don’t work at all if e-ring is tight against bushing or bearing

Well made tool
It was comfortable in my hand and well made and gripped the e ring frimly so was able to insert into the mow starter pinion housing couldn't be happier with it

Excellent quality and competitive price.
Really small plier tips allowing easy access to both small or larger size E-clips. Numerous uses including the real kicker great for older carburettors with round and odd shaped clips. High quality pliers from this manufacturer, comfortable grips for easy handling and control. Zero play in the pivot point and after many uses.Definitely a tool not commonly known about in the automotive world, should of purchased these many years ago, a definite no brainer.

I Really Wanted to Like these
While there are some things I like about these pliers, overall I can't recommend them as I find they work worse than needle nose pliers do.Pros:1. Magnetic tip is pretty nice feature to have on a tool like this. I'm surprised more pliers don't have magnetic tips built in.2. Fairly low cost.Cons:1. Very limited size range of E-clips they work for. While I knew this prior to purchase, it is a VERY limited size range. Ones too small or large don't really fit in these.2. The way these pliers hold E-clips makes it near impossible to install them on things near a bearing surface which is often where E-clips are used.Again I wanted to like these, but I find properly sized needle nose pliers just work significantly better.
