OK so this is what effectively replaces heated propagator in the greenhouse these days. Works brill if you have some sort of in-greenhouse cover system. So either cover your seedling pots individually and put them on the mat or like me use a plastic coldframe thingy you already have as a temp in-greenhouse seedling bank. Easy to use. Temp control brill. Can use temp controller sep to monitor in-greenhouse temp which has been a big bonus in this recent big temp fluctuation time - has let me know when to turn the greenhouse heating on or ventilate the greenhouse.

I knew this mat was desired for seed trays yet I bought them to create a home made incubator. It works very well as a heat mat. Easy to use, temperature control looks a bit flimsy but it hasn’t failed in me yet. Seem to be a bit pricey for what you get but I think it’s one of those things where you have to use it to know if it works for you or not.

a well made product which works well..I use it fr waming seedlings. Only one complaint , this remperature can not be controlled a so it is a few degrees too hot . I have puchashed a temprature contol device with a temperature probe , which os yet to arrive but I think this will solve the problem . If I was marketing this product I would package it with the control unit.

Seems to be working well. I've not been able to check the temperatures independently yet, but seedlings are germinating and it is much, much cheaper than a new thermostatic propagator. Further economy: I'm running 2 mats off the one thermostat. Temperature probe suggests soil above both is same temperature.

What I like is that does the job perfectly - coupled with a seed tray, probe left in the soil, a nice steady 74/75F should have my chilli seeds sprouting in no time. However, what I don't like, and this has been mentioned by other reviewers, is that this product does not meet the British Safety standard BS1363. The plug socket does not have shutters covering the LIVE and NEUTRAL holes (see photo). Honestly I am surprised that it is allowed to be sold, as I believe Amazon UK has strict rules regarding electrical "plugs" supporting the Standard, but perhaps that does not extend to sockets... 3 stars instead of 5 due to the non compliant socket.

Lovely gentle heat that is already sprouting my chilli seeds in 12 days. Some varieties that I had trouble with in the previous year too. I was a little concerned about the temp output at first but after putting my laser temp gun on it 100% accurate.

It works, but you will need to roll it out and set weights on it for a couple days to straighten it out. It's also showing faint signs of wear after about a week of use. Perfect if you want a cheap heating pad for seedlings. Not recommended for keeping bottles at temp (eg kombucha.)
