My favourite sea salt
These salt flakes are wonderful and I use them constantly. It's basically classic Maldon sea flakes with depth in the taste. The smoke taste is so subtle that it just increase the flavour of the meat without giving it a smokey taste.

Lovely
I am obsessed with this salt. The smell alone is incredible but the taste is lovely and adds extra flavour to whatever you’re making. I nearly bought other versions Maldon make before realising they are rock salts, I like that this is their signature pyramid granules so it’s easy to use and doesn’t need a grinder. The tube is huge so it lasts for ages, even for me and I eat a disgusting amount of salt a day, it’s a miracle I’m still alive. It’s good value for money, even though it’s on the more expensive side. I recommend and will absolutely repurchase.

Gorgeous but inconvenient packaging.
Very lovely taste, good quality, but the packaging itself is such a letdown. I wish these came in salt grinder pots considering the amount paid for it.

Incredibly reasonably priced, delightful flavour.
Maldon Smoked Sea Salt is the traditional Maldon sea salt flakes (with their beautiful pyramid shape), but it’s been gently smoked over oak wood. I have found it to be an incredibly versatile addition to my larder and is often used more frequently than my standard Maldon sea salt flakes. Used on savoury dishes, it adds a beautiful delicate smokey essence. However, for me, Maldon Smoked Sea Salt shines the most when used in sweet dishes; a sprinkle over freshly cooked and sliced brownies, straight out of the oven, amazing. It helps to create the balance that salt always does to a sweet dish but leaves a gentle smoke on the palate. Whether it’s boosting umami in a savoury dish or beautifully balancing and complimenting a sweet, you won’t regret your purchase. Some advice on the use of Maldon salt flakes, whether smoked or not: Maldon salt flakes are a finishing salt. Many reviewers are either complaining it’s too weak, grinding the salt in a mill or (and this is a sure-fire way to make a chef cry) chucking it into cooking dishes, e.g. a pasta sauce. Finishing salts are delicate (and expensive at £1.40 per 100g compared to table salt, 5-7p per 100g) and should be used, as the name suggests, to finish a plate of food. A sprinkle over a dish at the end adds texture, a distinct flavour, a more professional look and balance. So please do try this salt, for its intended purpose, you will adore it and will be amazed at just how many dishes flavour profiles it can round out. Storage: Salt flakes should be kept in a cool and dry place to avoid moisture causing clumping and flavour impairment (especially with the smoked version). The bag and box it comes in are, sadly, not suitable as it cannot be resealed. I would advise you store it in either a Kilner jar or a resealable Ziploc bag and place it in a cupboard or drawer that’s cool.

Worth the money. Recommended
I love smoked salt on salad (I have to eat a lot of salt in order to stop my blood pressure from being too low). It is particularly good on tomatoes. I uses to get from supermarkets, but they seem to have stopped stocking it. I was pleased to find it here, but thought twice because of the cost. However, I am very pleased by the size of the tub, and I realise that it is good value. I shall buy it again.

Sel que je ne connaissais pas, très agréable à utiliser, gros grains, un plaisir à déposer sur vos plats et à déguster. Jai aussi commande la version classique en sel blanc. Cette version fumée est très particulière, sel brun, très odorant et parfumé. Je recommande pour le plaisir de la découverte et de la dégustation.
