I actually didn’t buy this for cooking, but I tasted it when it arrived. It’s a nice heat for spicy cooks. I liked it a lot. I’m sure the squirrels I’m using it to repel will not find it nearly as appealing…which is just fine for my vegetable garden! One note on shipping though. The package arrive in a soft plastic wrapper that allowed the plastic container to be dented in multiple spots. Also the safety seal was broken (probably while picked up in the package in shipping, so if I was using this in a restaurant I might have returned it. Just an FYI for shipping and commercial purchasers. My review is based upon the quality of the product, not Amazon’s shipping.

Product does come filled to the brim and is of good value despite the seal being broken on one side. I did not notice any spill. I have not tasted this nor checked for freshness. It does smell just like all the other brands I tried. I'm using this product to keep the rabbits away from my plants to which I have not yet tried, but have no reason to think it is not what it claims to be.If you buy this, be aware, it may be shipped with the seal broken but it is still a good value. It just looks like the seal has weak stickiness.

I put this along the fence that serves as the squirrel super-highway. My building manager feeds the squirrels and rats, so rodents are running in the fence all day long.I could feel my sinuses reacting to this stuff as I spooned it in a thick carpet onto the fence, but the squirrels just sniffed it and ran right over it.

Must be careful not to inhale or get into eyes.
