The Luminator Battery Operated LED Lantern Camping Lantern with Built-in Flashlight

To start, I have to say, on the Amazon product description , it sounds like there is 3 settings of continuous intensity. It say's you can read a book from 30 ft away (high), dims to cozy glow inside tent (low), and has rare medium setting. It does mention the flashlight setting. There is no mention of emergency flash. There is also no directions/manual. Figured out that one push of button gives you high intensity continuous setting, 2 pushes give a lower intensity continuous setting, and 3 pushes give an emergency flashing. Holding button gives you flashlight function. So there is 2 continuous light settings, an emergency flash setting, and flashlight setting, at least the lantern I got does. Batteries are easy enough to put in but getting cover back on can be tricky. Got to pay attention to how it comes off. Remember, there is no instructions. Having said all that, the light is bright. Haven't camped yet cause I just got it, but I did take it out in my woods to simulate camping situation. Lights up a pretty good area. Looks similar to my gas lanterns, and I don't have to buy gas tanks, plus my gas lanterns took up more space. This lantern is small, and appears well built. Anxious to see how batteries hold up. To this point I am happy with purchase. Would be nice if they stuck a simple manual in however.

It got here the day that they said wish the product was brighter but it will work fine for power outages and for my icehouse which it was bought it for

I am impressed by the solid quality and light intensity of this LED lantern. The main body has a rubber finish making it easy to grip in hand. This item also comes with a hook for hanging. Love it!

A little smaller and not as bright as I expected

Excellent lantern. Solid construction,ergonomic handle with extra double hook,functional on/off settings button. Flashlight function a great extra, not super bright in flashlight mode, but does the trick.

First off, this is not a light for a backpacker/hiker or camper who has to carry in their gear. With 3 D batteries for power, this thing weighs in at just over 2lbs... much too heavy for most "packing" activities. However, if you are able to drive in (or have something like a 4 wheeler for transport) this would be a great option for many applications.With a tri-directional design, the light is spread equally around the space, and at 300 lumens, there's plenty of light for most camping/emergency applications. it comes with a really nice carry handle as well as a hook on the underside for hanging off of a rope.The directions are on the box and are very basic.... and it takes a little practice to get the right timing to switch between the Flashlight, High, Low, and SOS modes...in fact, it's so finicky that I dropped a star because it's just so frustrating to try to get the lamp on the setting I want to without multiple tries. It's also a bit tricky to get the battery cover/base back on when you change the batteries. Certainly not something you want to be dealing with in the middle of a major storm so make sure to keep it with fresh batteries!There is also a cute flashlight on the top - a useful addition that I hope I will never need to test out! Supposedly there is a green blinking light in the dark to help you to find it but if there is one I haven't figured out how to enable it.Personally for me, this lantern is best for either at-home back-up for during storms or for trailer-park camping situations where you have limited access to electricity for light. I personally am putting this in my home for emergency back-up... till now my go-to has been candles but it will be great to have something that doesn't need an open flame for my bedroom, so that if I fall asleep I won't have to worry about causing a fire.I did receive this for free for a fair and honest review... however, I try to work with items I need so I can give them a real trial, and thus my opinions and experiences are a real and true reflection of my experience with the product. Great lantern....definitely a quality product for the price. Brighter than I expected. Only issue is the battery compartment can be a bit tricky....

Overview: Our family likes to get together and have night time bonfires and chat with one another. To obtain more firewood, we now are able to use a lantern instead of rummaging around in the dark. We are satisfied with the lantern's ability to light up an area that is in pitch black.Pros:-Bright light. The light sufficiently lights about a 5-foot diameter in pitch black. The light has a faintly bluish white tint to it due to the LED light.-Easy setup. With the turn of the bottom portion, the battery holder opens. Once the batteries are placed and the bottom is turned back on, it only takes a press of a button on or off to start or turn off the lantern light.-Ergonomic handle. The handle is thin enough to wrap the fingers around and not have a pull down on the knuckles. It is easy to grip and carry without hand strain.Cons:-Twist in bottom compartment. I'm not a fan of the twist compartment.
