Better than expected
Easy to put together and install in a standard size space, and you can rotate the handle to whichever side you need. Am primarily using just the fingerprint scan. Whoever scans in through the door, the app will notify you. I have it set to lock itself after a few seconds, so open door, close door, forget about it. Also have a number programmed in (sometimes helped as the fingerprint reader was looking for precisely how you scanned in when you set it up, so if not perfectly matching it will fail to open - my experience is that 3 fails in a row in the dark was enough to make me use the buttons). The buttons light up nicely but the fingerprint reader stays dark. Looks and feels solid and hi-tech, and if there is a downside its that it makes me want to upgrade my old wooden door to match. Something to consider for dog people though maybe: my dog figured out how to open it in just a few days (its a big lever handle on the inside too), so when I get home and he starts doing his happy dance... I no longer have to open the lock to get in.

Easy installation
I love the easy to read directions. Not too small and very informative. I did have a hard time programming my own code though. Had to go through it about 8 to 10 times but finally figured it out. Great product though. Works beautiful. Very reasonably priced

Excellent Value for the money. 1 week review.
I bought this lock to replace a Kwikset SmartCode 888. That lock has zWave connectivity, whereas this lock has no connectivity. Because I used the autolock feature on the Kwikset, I never had a need to use the zwave functionality. My first Kwikset Lock was DOA, and the replacement died within a week of the 1 year warranty expiring. The motor failed on the bolt. With that background - This lock had the features important to me - Support for multiple programmable codes, auto-lock with an andjustable timer, backup key in case the batteries die.Installation:Installation was quite a bit easier than the Kwisket. Maybe half the number of screws. It's pretty obvious just by looking at the components how to install it, but OrangeIOT emailed me a PDF with the installation instructions once the product shipped. Install into the existing door opening was flawless, with no adjustments required. It took less than five minutes to install.Do take note of the "handing" instruction. This is the step where the lock cycles to find out what direction it has to turn to extend the bolt, depending on what side the door is hinged on. You have to keep one battery out until you are ready to do this.Programming:Programming is dead simple. It took maybe minute to reset the master code, add a user code, and enable autolock.Mechanical:The action was a little sticky at first. After I cycled through extending and retracting the bolt a few times it loosened up and became smooth. The locking mechanism itself seems a little less sturdy than the Kwikset. The pressed metal components seem thinner and lighter, but the bolt itself is, of course, the same dimensionsThe motor actually seems more powerful than the Kwikset. That lock balked at the slightest bit of resistance, which could be problematic as seasonal expansion and contract of the wood door and frame can cause the bolt alignment to have a little friction. The action on this lock seems more powerful, but time will tell.Aesthetics:If I have a gripe with the lock it's that the interior case and deadbolt lever are plastic, and look\feel kind of cheap. The Kwikset has a plastic cover over the battery compartment, but the rest of it is metal. It looks OK from a few feet away, but you definitely notice when you open and close the lock. Also, when you remove the battery cover, the amount of force required to pop it off seems like it comes dangerously close to snapping off one of the tabs, or the cover bending to the point of creasing the plastic. I'm interested to see how long it lasts. The plastic components are why I gave the unit four stars and not five.Durability\Battery life.I can't really give a verdict here, as I've only had it for a week or so. So far, so good. The doc says to expect 1 year of battery life with 10 uses per day. Since I autolock, I assume I would get half that. I have installed it in a high traffic door. It gets 3-4x that many uses. That math works out to ~6-8 weeks per set of batteries. With the Qwikset I got about three months.Price - This is a huge point in favor of this lock. It was literally 1/5th the price I paid for the one it's replacing. Given that one lasted a year, If I get 3 months out of this one I'll be ahead.

No key needed!
When I opened it a small loose screw was rattling around inside that broke free from a hold down bracket inside. The other remaining screw held the device under the hold down bracket in place just fine but I did add some silicone caulking to it for safety's sake. I had an older Black and Decker door lock mounting kit that had all the needed drill bits and such. With it, installing the lock was very easy following the instructions that came with the lock. Following the instructions to set the open code was simple too. Just take your time and pay attention. I installed it on the side door to my garage and it looks great and works like a dream! Easy access to my garage now since I don't always carry my keys with me. The price was definitely what caught my attention since everything I found locally was so much more. Well built and solid on the door.

Really bad lock. Really bad. Emailed Seller's Support - No Reply
I have had this lock for appx 6 months. Here are things you need to know.1.) the batteries for some reason get insanely hot. Almost too hot too touch. They melted the plastic braces that hold them in place. That’s how hot they get.2.) the batteries last about 3-4 weeks in mine. Brand new Duracells last about 4. Cheaper batteries are closer to 3 weeks.3.) the item will lock with the last charge in the battery without warning you that the batteries are dead. Meaning…. You need a back up key hidden somewhere or you will inevitably end up locked out of your house at some point. It has happened to me 3 times. The first time I luckily had a window open to climb in. Now I keep a lock box with a key. And I’ve needed it. It should not lock if the batteries are that close to dead. Or should be beeping periodically or differently if they are dead.4.) the beeps it makes when it locks and opens are deafening loud. I live in a row home in a city. I’m almost scared to lock the door when I leave if it’s too early because the beeps it makes screech down the entire street. It’s shockingly loud. If you need a keyless lock, but people might be sleeping in your house when you come and go… this isn’t for you.I have reached out to customer support to see what they’ll do for me. I’ll update if they let me know what the issue with this model is.UPDATE - 2 weeks and no reply from their customer support. this is a garbage lock from an untrustworthy company. dont support sellers like this on Amazon. it's the only way to get the bad ones off the site.
