My rescue Mastiff was INHALING his food. We got this one (very sturdy and heavy) to hopefully slow him down - and it totally works! We can now feed him first and he finishes last - meaning our other dog has time to eat slowly like he usually does. We are very pleased.

We have been trying to find a slow feeder bowl for years that would slow down my Labrador retriever. We have tried feeding on sheet pans and several brands of slow feeder bowls. The plastic ones were too easy to move or flip and he could finish his meal in less than 30 seconds and the sheet pan did not work and was very messy. This bowl has been amazing! It is heavy enough that he cannot move and is now taking 4 to 5 minutes to finish. It is also easy to wash clean. I ended up purchasing a second bowl for my other dog to help slow her down. Note that adding a little water to the kibble also helped make him eat a little slower. This is a high quality dish that hopefully will keep my fast eater healthy!

This bowl is definitely high quality, and won't get bite marks and scratches like plastic ones can. I have an 80 pound Lab and ordered the largest size bowl, which worked out perfectly. The hard, smooth finish stays clean longer than plastic or stainless materials. I got it to replace a large Kong slow-feeder toy. My dog loved the Kong, but the bite marks and scratches it harbored microorganisms which gave him infections on his chin. I got a new Kong which I will let him use occasionally after his chin clears up (it is almost healed after 2 weeks with this bowl). The trick with the Kong is to take it away as soon as he finishes getting the kibble out of it so that it doesn't get bite marks on it. Pros: Everything about this bowl. Cons: The large size bowl could be heavy for some people to pick up.

I ordered one of these for each of my dobermans. Both my girls are fast eaters, and if they gulp too fast, they vomit shortly after eating. I had plastic slow-feeder bowls for a long time, but my younger girl started to develop significant chin acne, and the vet recommended either metal or ceramic bowls to combat it. The only downside to these bowls is that they are HEAVY. They're much heavier than I expected. This is good to keep a dog from flipping a bowl, but if you carry it to fill it, be prepared - they have some heft. The glaze is uniform, and there are no rough spots. There are small non-skid stickers included in the package for the base. The ridges inside are lower in the middle, and each ring gets taller as they move toward the outside of the bowl. This lets you customize how hard your dog has to work to get their food. One of my girls is a little better at the smaller spaces, so I put her food around the outside to slow her down. The other girl has a harder time, so I put her food in the middle. I'm not sure what the "(⚠️ It's not real slow feeder)" comment in one of the pictures means. This bowl absolutely slowed my girls down. Two cups of food used to be gone in about 45 seconds, and now it takes a solid 10 minutes. I have been putting these in the dishwasher to clean, and I haven't had any troubles doing so. There are little divots on the underside, so if you lay them flat, they'll collect water.

My rescue Malinois was under fed prior to her rescue so she inhaled her food. This is the first bowl I’ve found that actually slows her down (previous 45 seconds to 5 minutes now). So happy I bought this bowl! I’ll be getting one for my other working pup since it works so well. It’s pretty, durable, doesn’t slide and hasn’t chipped so far. Definitely buy one if your dog inhales their food (which can lead to bloat)- it could save you in vet bills and even your dogs life. Highly recommend!
