Some take batteries, some are rechargeable.I liked the idea of a rechargeable fan as it meant I didn't have to carry spare batteries around with me, or pay high prices for them at the nearest convenient store.But it seemed that most had rather short run times, so that put me off as it's not so easy to just plug it in anywhere, especially if I'm out all day. That's where batteries come in handy as you can keep a fan going all day if you don't mind the weight of the batteries.Then I found this little beauty. Well, I say little, it's not small, but not too big.I got it out of it's smart box which it was well packed in.Plugged it in and fully charged it before use. DO NOT USE BEFORE IT IS FULLY CHARGED!!!I say this because, even with the current technology with lithium batteries being amazing, it is STILL advisable to charge fully before use to get the best out of your batteries. Plus, make sure you fully charge after use, and before you next use it. Again, this is so the batteries work to their full potential, and last longer per charge, and that the lifetime of the battery lasts to it's full potential.The first thing I did was got a feel for the fan. It is larger than most personal fans on the market, but that doesn't bother me as I've tried the smaller, folderble fans, and they're ok, but are pretty flimsy and don't last longer than a British summer.Build.This fan is a good, strong, rugged, well made fan. It feels well made and well worth the price.Function.There's an on off switch on the side that slides well, and stays in it's place without slipping.There's also a button that let's you select the 3 different modes. 1, is for fan only. 2, is for mist spray only. 3, is for mist and fan. It's a bit missleading in the product description on the Amazon site as they state it has 3 speeds. This is not the case, it has 3 modes as stated and the fan speed stays the same on the 2 modes that it's on for.1, The fan is great, strong enough to cool you down in any hot cliamate, and quiet enough so it does not disturb you or anyone near you.2, The mist function, I had no idea what this would be like. I have seen fans with an intergrated water spray, so I assumed that this would be the same, a spray like a spray bottle. This couldn't be further from the thruth. The mist spray is literally a mist. It's like the mist that some supermarkets use that spray the vegetables on their shelves, and you get that mist rolling over all the fruit like clouds.It's so fine that when you hold your hand up to it, it takes a while for any moisture to build up. When this is pointed at your face, it's wonderful, just enough to cool you down without getting soaked. For the ladies this is a great idea as it won't ruin any make up.3, Fan & mist, Oh this is good, it's so heavenly, an amazing feeling that you'll just love.The fan, as I said, is more than enough to cool you down on any hot sunny day. But add to it the beautiful cooling feeling of the mist, and you'll be cool as a cucumber for as long as you like.Battery life, very good, better than I thought it would be. When just using the fan, I found that the fan lasted for over 8 hours, much more than the 'up to 7 hours' on the instructions for the fan alone. This is reduced when you use the mist function on it's own, and even more so when using the mist & fan together. So if you want to use the mist function, it's best to just have a short 5-10 second burst if you're out and about. But if you're at home or at work, you can run it while plugged in and charging, especially useful if you plug it into the usb on your laptop/computer.Conclusion: This is a fantastic fan. It's fairly light, robust, comfortable to hold and delivers exactly what you need when you want it, and where & when you need it. I have no idea what the people that gave it a low score expected from this fan.I can only imagine that they either relish the idea of slating products, or that they want a £10 fan to do the same as a £290 Dyson bladeless fan. What ever their gripe, they're wrong. This is a great fan, and would be more than happy to buy more as gifts for friends and family anytime. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Mister and fan in one portable unit *by M***Z on Reviewed in the United Kingdom 🇬🇧 on 24 June 2015* Note: The maker supplied a review sample for evaluation, the opinion of the product is my own personal viewWith a small footprint of 18cm height by about 9cm wide this little fan also acts as a "mister" this is done by topping up the small tank on top of the unit with water (manual advises against adding oils or other scents this could block up the jets) No heat produced with this as it uses "ultrasonic" to produce the mist effect. This has some use as very dry environments lack moisture and this is a simple way to address that problem.Controls are simple a single power switch with a button that cycles through the modes with an LED showing which one is selected; first is fan only, the next just the mister, and lastly fan and mister combined. Inside is a lithium battery the manual suggests a long initial 8 hour charge, with a run time of about 7 hours for the fan, 5 hours for the mister and 3 for both. The water tank holds about 35ml and based on using it for a while I would say you get about 50-60 minutes of misting out of one fill.The plastics are a smooth glossy finish and quite thick with good finishing, you do get a micro USB cable for charging in the box though you can of course use your own ones. Misting works very well it's fine and is quickly dispersed into the air, the fan does move quite a lot of air it's audible though I didn't find it annoying. If I were to pick one area I'd enhance it would be variable fan speed a choice of 2/3 would be great, even so I think it's a very nice little product and one that is quite useful. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Fantastic fan *by S***H on Reviewed in the United Kingdom 🇬🇧 on 5 June 2016* Amazing product. The box it came in was top quality, no damage inside or out.The device has a flat bottom to stand upright and a hole through which you can hold it for when on the move. The water hole is well sealed and would not leak no matter how I shook the unit. The fan on it's own is powerful enough to keep the face cool on these warm summer afternoons. But the addition of the water mist makes this the best mini fan I've ever used. Highly recommend it. I primarily bought it to use in the car when jobs dry up and I'm sitting around waiting, the car uses too much fuel to run the air conditioning when the car is not in use. This fan is better than the A/C as it only uses a built in battery and can be positioned in various ways to aim at whatever body part you wish to keep cool. As for the price, I payed £13.95 and it's difficult to fathom how the manufacturer makes any money from this, the rechargeable battery itself can cost as much as the full fan.
