I plan to connect the generator output and the power company mains using this manual ts. where do i connect the 'earth' wire?

can this take 16 mm cable in the terminals ?

16mm or 16 gauge? It can take up to 14 gauge MAX. I tried 12 gauge stranded and it wouldn't fit

How would i wire this to act as a spdt switch on 12v dc? i wish to switch between two power sources. any advice is appreciated.

You would have to connect a jumper on the output side. (eg. sw to pos 1 will connect pole 1 and 3. sw to pos 2 will connect pole 2 and 4. pwr source 1 to pole 1 and pwr source 2 to pole 2. add jumper btwn pole 3 and 4 and use pole 4 as an output.) NOTE!! Check pole switching this is just an example!!! also be aware of the amperage this is an AC switch box.

I need to switch between two ac sources, do i use 1/3/5/7 as the output? i follow that 2/6 for pos1 and 4/8 for pos2 , but what output terminals?
