Whole Parts Refrigerator French Door Gasket (Gray) Part # W10830162 - Replacement & Compatible with Some Jenn Air, Kenmore, Kitchen Aid, Maytag and whirlpool Refrigerators

The door seal arrived sooner than expected. There were detailed instructions on how to prep and install the seal as well as how to remove the old one. The door seal fit perfectly and the fridge closes properly.

We have had our fridge for about three years, and it was time to replace the ripping seals. (don't get me started about poor OEM quality.) I had the option of paying almost $100 EACH for new seals from the manufacturer, or go with something more reasonable. There were some OEM seals on Amazon for an OK price, but I decided to give these a try because the originals were not that impressive and the reviews on the new OEMs weren't stellar. Overall these seem to be doing really well. I left them in the sun to warm for a bit, but still had to use the hair dryer to get them to sit well. The design is a little different than what came with the fridge, but I read that the new OEM parts have also changed. Don't love that we have to check to make sure the fridge closes on both sides, but I think that's just poor design of the doors themselves. So far, so good! Saving over $100 on the pair is a no brainer for me.

While it was much cheaper than the OEM version, it is definitely not the same quality. We were able to get the wrinkles out and get it installed, but it started ripping up the seam within a few days. We exchanged it for another and are having the same issue.Further, the rubber is rubbing paint off the sticker on the inside of the fridge.

I bought two of these because the door gasket seals to my Maytag refrigerator have gotten worn out. Initially, I was pretty excited because this gasket was the exact same size as my original one. The installation was easy, you just pull out the old one and push the new one into place, making sure that the gasket is flush with the refrigerator door. Unfortunately, the magnet in the gasket is not powerful enough to keep my door closed, so I will have to return them. I'm not sure if I am going to try another brand, or just retire the refrigerator and buy a new one.

My mom had torn up her gasket by allowing sticky goo to dry on it with the door closed. When she opened the door later.... ripppp!This worked just fine. My only complaint is that because it is folded to fit in a conveniently sized (for shipping purposes) box, there were some creases and such that I had to use a hair-dryer to get out. It was just ever-so-slightly not right on the door for a couple of days, but ultimately settled in to its correct shape. So don't worry if you get this on and it isn't perfect, it will be.
