Hardwood Safety Hinge Barrel Top Toy Storage Chest

This Badger Basket Barrel Top Toy Box is an amazing product for the price! Contrary to some of the reviews on Amazon.com this trunk is VERY easy to assemble. The quality of the workmanship is very good, and again surprising given the price. The top is constructed of solid wood slats and comes preassembled. The sides consist of solid wood pieces and nicely finished veneered thin ply wood. This box makes a PERFECT storage chest for all sorts of things! And it looks GREAT!

Finish on the toy box is great. Personalized it ourselves with stencils and acrylic paint.Easy assembly for one adult.Great toy box for any kid!

I am ONLY giving it 1 star because it arrived quickly. That's it! This toy box consists of cheap materials that were badly damaged when it arrived. The wood is even mis-matched colors! The lid doesn't close all the way, nor does the safety close feature work correctly. Had I seen one in a store, I would have never bought it, let alone paid more than $20 for it. Very disappointed!

After reading the comments about the top, the first thing I did after assembly was to sit on the closed top. I found it to be very sturdy even for my 150 lb body, so no worries there. The sides all aligned properly (in reference to some other reviews), and assembly was reasonably easy. The only issues I came across are two things: some scratches (from shipping?) that I'll need to touch up with a furniture marking pen, and it needs some matching stick-on covers to hide the screws' metal contrast (most furniture vendors usually supply these with the parts, so that's a bit disappointing). The slats on top could be aligned a little better, but it's not at all a deal-breaker. It looks decent enough not to feel cheap. Unless your furniture is high-quality design, this piece should blend right in with dark-wood-themed decorating (for the espresso-colored choice). Holds lots of toys.

for starters, I paid $98.93 for this item and a few days later, it was listed for $17 dollars less by the same seller. (same color, etc. exact same box for cheaper.) well, I don't think it's worth even that. My toy box does not close all the way; the gap is close to an inch! The materials are way cheap. I thought for almost $100 I'd have better product. The wood is flimsy and again, it doesn't come even close to closing. I can get past the nicks and dings that it came with, but I'd hope for a functional product. I tried looking up a number or email to contact the seller and surprise, surprise.. they are unreachable. I'm extremely dissatisfied with my purchase. I made the purchase, seeing that it had 3.5 stars. I'm not quite sure how that happened; this product is crap. If I didn't already assemble it, I'd ship it back. I also don't think it's worth the price of shipping to return it. this was, hands down, my most disappointing amazon purchase in the 6 years I've used amazon.
