Chimney Sheep 13 x 13 Inch Square Chimney Draught Excluder

Chimney Sheep: First job, clean the flu. You will get dirty and protect your eyes. Measure the flu. Not as easy as it sounds, the narrowest part may be further up than you thought.. Mine was 9 × 12 ins. Ordered the 13 × 13 sheep, it fitted well with a bit of fiddling. The results are very good. Less air going up the flu and I believe it has made the room quieter Not cheap, but does the job.

This is a complete game-changer for me!!! I just replaced an old gas fire with the fake stones that sat inside my fireplace... I reckon half the heat went up the chimney. It never really heated the room that well. I recently bought a flueless gas fire, a mock Wood burner. (not cheap) so blocked my chimney with this; it was like a gale, and suddenly stopped! I never realised how much air movement there was. Since installing said fire and Cimney Sheep, my room is constantly on 20 degrees on the very lowest position. It's astonishing! What's also amazing is that my bills haven't gone up and yet I am twice as warm!! Fantastic product. Also it's Natural. 10 out of 10.

Does the job. Purchased the smallest item on sale, but thought this one item was expensive regards its actual size

We have several fireplaces - only one of which is actually used - and we asked our chimney sweep's advice about reducing draughts from those not in use. He recommended the chimney sheep instead of balloons because they can be easily removed/replaced and don't trap moisture. After installation it was immediately noticeable how much more snug the rooms were, and also how the ambient noise of wind/traffic etc. was also reduced, dare I say even eliminated. The other aim of stopping granules of soot and old mortar from falling into the rooms was also achieved. The only slight difficulty was placing one of these high enough up the chimney as the standard handle and extension rod together weren't long enough. Though it's possible to buy extra extensions separately, we managed without (and without breaking anything) and simply hung the reminder tag on a long piece of string.

It turns out chimneys really do come in all shapes and sizes. When we moved into our new house it was nearing summer so we didn't really notice how cold it would get in the living room until later last year - suffice to say with nothing blocking the chimney it was blowing a gale and the room was uninhabitable without the heating cranked up. I tried a few different things - newspaper up the chimney etc - but I have a funny shaped flue so after some research came across these. They do seem a little expensive at first glance, but there's no denying that - after some careful trimming to size (don't worry, that's part of the instructions!) it has not only stopped the draft but also provides over an inch of insulation to the chimney so it's acting as a reasonable heat barrier there too. I had to put this quite high up our chimney so got one of the extension rods below, which is handy as it means the tag hangs far enough down so there's no danger of lighting a fire without noticing this is still in place. 6 inch extension rod for Chimney Sheep Highly recommended solution to the problem of heat lost up the chimney.

I bought this to close off the flue in my lounge which is hardly used. It can be trimmed to make a snug fit and this is what I did. I needed an extension handle to be able to insert and remove it more easily. Once in place it works well and completely stopped the draught from the flue. This resulted in both a more comfortable room and it stopped the 1.5C imbalance between the hall and landing temperatures. Recommended.

Unfortunately I bought the wrong size - my fault but I have been taking the chimney sheep for ages they r brilliant. So I had to but another one in the right size - shows how good they are

Extremely flimsy. Bought it to use in an 11" x 11", but it won't even stay in.

Easy to put in and out. Seals securely. A great product.

Non credevo ma ho risolto tantissimo in termini di dispersione di calore, è anche un ottimo prodotto dal punto di vista qualitativo (è un peccato che si sporchi di fuliggine!)
