I've bought 2 extra (Shark branded) pads, so do 4 passes each time. It certainly picks up a lot of dirt and looks better. It takes quite a while to do and requires quite a lot of effort, but I feel it's worth all of that for the clean result it gives. Mine's started a weird whistling, which isn't affecting performance and hopefully won't do.
