Nicely made and very effective to create a good uplighting effect in darker corners of a room - can use behind chair, sofa, electronics etc. rather than having to have a big lamp standing there. Insert a LED bulb and it doesn't run hot at all. Only snag is that it is nigh on impossible to put a bulb in. I just unscrewed the case, inserted and re-added. LED bulbs will last for 1000s of hours so a one-off operation. Overall, this item does just what I wanted at a good price.

This light is good for tucking into a corner on the floor behind furniture and bringing some ‘mood-lighting’ to a dark area. I ended up buying two of them, and a couple of things that I found make them more fun and easier to use were:Bulb-Fitting:Other reviews have commented that it’s difficult to fit the GU10 bulb into the holder, using the suction gripper supplied with the light, and have recommended disassembling the light unit. This would certainly work, but I was nervous of doing anything that might mean I couldn’t return it if it went wrong, so I chickened out and did it this way: 1 – stand the lamp on a table 2 – stick the sucker to the face of the bulb (wet the sucker) 3 – using the sucker as a handle, lower the bulb onto its socket, and ‘twiddle’ it until you feel the two studs on the base of the bulb drop into the two ‘keyholes’ in the socket 4 – using a thumb on each side of the bulb, press down and twist clockwise, until you feel the bulb turn and lock into the keyholes (the sucker doesn’t have enough grip to do this)Bulb Type:As the lamp is in a position where it’s hard to turn it on/off, I wanted a remote control facility. Rather than buy an R/C switch adapter, I thought I’d add a bit of fun, so took a hint from another review and bought an infra red remote control bulb that also has colour-changing abilities (search for “GU10 LED remote”, which turns up a large selection - I ended up with the Mobri brand).The infra red works well, it bounces off the ceiling so isn’t bothered by the metal case I doubt that I’ll ever use the colour facilities, except to annoy our (adult) children, but the remote provides on/off and warm white at three levels of brightness, which is what I needed.All in all, it does what I hoped it would.

Nice light for behind my sofa...putting the bulb in is impossible...took advice from one of reviews...unscrewed the screws on either side..put bulb in then put them back...took 2 mins!!
