Having tried for a few days i notoiced this devoce when enabled it not only lets you control the Ambeo Subwoofers bass levels but the Ambeo Soundbar Minis also. Simply enabling the subwoofer via the app grants access to the Subwoofer volume control and without this volume control the Ambeo Mini's bass levels is at a fixed level. Sure you can play with the Foundation and Midlevels in the equaliser but this extra bass volume cobtrol that merges the subwoofer and the ones built in the Ambeo Mini was a unexpected bonus for me (cannot say if this is true with Ambeo Plus/Max). This is a very chunky device, the images do not do it justice. I expected a nice clean slim device but it was the opposite. Im not sure if size matters for a sub but I would assume the bigger the better. Overall the subwoofer is good. A plus as it doubles up as a bass controller for the soundbar itself. The bass activates when it needs to during explosions or heavy action scenes. You wont get that muddy bass effect during quiet/normal dialog scenes where bass is not needed as it does not make a sound. Update: I nown own both the Ambeo Mini and Plus. The mini connects with the subwoofer without issue wirelessly The Plus however refuses to connect wirelessly and a RCA subwoofer cable was needed. Strongly consider you buy a amazon basics RCA sub cable if if planning to hook it up with a Ambeo Plus.

I bought this to go with my Ambeo Max. The Ambeo Max isn’t lacking as on its own it’s a fabulous (but heavy) speaker. However, when you spend that much on a soundbar it seems a shame not to get the best out of it. This subwoofer does it and more. If you’ve set up the Ambeo before, doing the subwoofer is a breeze. It’s important to get the right subwoofer cable to connect to the Ambeo Max and ensure you follow the directional arrows on the cable. The subwoofer works with the Sennheiser App and there are a number of tweaks you can do. You can leave it for the app to select the settings based on the speaker set up or you can manually control it. Coming from a dedicated 5:1 system I was apprehensive about a soundbar and subwoofer setup. I needn’t have worried. The sound is scarily huge. Even at low volumes you still get that sense of thunder almost as if it’s your heart beat. I watched the final episode of Season 6 of The Game of Thrones (Sept of Baelor explosion) and the subwoofer almost literally brings the house down. I’d advise anyone getting it, to watch your favourite programmes again. It’s a completely different experience.

Was a little sceptical that it could achieve what I wanted but thought I’d give it ago after already investing in the ambeo max bar. After a few adjustments to the app for the bar and then adding the subwoofer its a totally deferent sound bar. Endlessly happy and seriously feels and sounds like cinema quality movies/films now, although as before I just felt a little ‘meh’ with the sound bar alone. If you’re thinking of buying 1 then just get it done, you wont regret it, the difference in sound quality and bass👌🏻

I bought this subwoofer to match with my current Sennheiser Plus soundbar and it works amazing

I Was so impressed with my Sennheiser Ambeo Mini I wanted to try the matching sub. It's an impressive piece of kit which paired and calibrated easily and perfectly. But the thunderous almost earthquake like bass was too much. Fantastic for action movies, maybe too much for everyday TV. I I prefer the Mini on it's ow, a more balanced Bassy open sound.

So you pay all this money for a premium subwoofer and they don’t include a cheap RCA cable, meaning you may struggle to connect to your sound bar (20 minutes and still won’t connect) and the seinhieser app won’t let you manage it without directly connecting with a cable they don’t send. Suggest they include the necessary cable in future, it would be a fraction of the cost of all the packaging and reduce frustration Update. This wireless sub does not connect wirelessly
