The Alpha's Saviour (Shifters of Grey Ridge Book 1)

Well written and character focused, reading this book was like reading two. The world building is good and I look forward to reading more given all the other eligible stories hinted at within this one.

If you're in the mood for a fated-mates shifter romance with a touch of danger, The Alpha's Saviour might just hit the spot. Hayley, on the run from a stalker, finds herself entangled with Cooper, the Alpha of a local wolf pack, after saving his life. Their bond forms quickly, but the real struggle comes in getting Cooper to realize what everyone else already knows—he's met his mate, and he needs to stop dragging his feet!The book is well-written, but the plot timing threw me off a bit. The climax, which you'd expect at about 75% of the way through, actually hits at the 50% mark. From there, it becomes a waiting game for the MMC to get with the program. We all know where it’s headed, and it feels like we’re just hanging around for him to figure it out.Character-wise, they were solidly developed, and I enjoyed them overall. The spicy scenes? A solid 3 stars. But I have to say, I was left wanting more details, especially from Cooper's POV during his first time with Hayley. I mean, who doesn’t love a male lead who's saved himself for "the one"? That moment had the potential to be so much more impactful, but it was glossed over.All in all, it's a good read if you're looking for something quick and enjoyable with shifter vibes, though I think it could have used a bit more tension and depth in the second half.

Looking forward to rest of series and the other books related. Enjoyed every bit! Great plot and steamy romance in addition to excellent characters! Looking to read all Reece Garden's works. Five stars!

MF, no cheating/sharing, spicy, HEA4.5 stars. This is my second book by this author and I have to say, I am hooked! I love her sassy/sweet heroines and JPP alphas! I love the dirty talk, smexy times, and storylines that are well built. The only reason for reducing half a star was because the H took too long to pull his head out and claim the h.

The story follows the classic shifter romance trope, with an alpha werewolf finding his destined mate. While the plot is engaging and has some exciting moments, it felt a bit predictable at times. There were a few twists, but nothing that truly surprised me. The pacing was decent, but some parts dragged on longer than necessary.The characters are well-developed, and I enjoyed getting to know them. The protagonist, in particular, is relatable and likable. However, I felt that some of the secondary characters lacked depth and could have been fleshed out more. The chemistry between the main characters was palpable, but their relationship progressed a bit too quickly for my taste.

I devoured this book right from the start. The storyline was interesting and kept me hooked and the spice is what made me stay 😂. I cannot wait to read the second book in this series to find out more about some characters. The banter and the relationships formed between the characters was very funny and heartfelt and made me wish I was right there with them…. Who knows? Maybe I'll get a mate one day lmao 😂

I really enjoyed this book. While the second half did slow a bit, it was a good read. The characters made the 'world' come alive. I think I will take a chance and try out the next book in the series.

Now I need every book in the series. Just fabulous and is she or isn't she...Zoe! A great romantic suspense with plenty of heat and double the danger. Love it!

The first half of the book was perfect. It was tense, exciting, romantic with humour and danger. Hayley was a great character - she was strong, brave, clever and had a great rapport with most people. Cooper was also great showing immense control in not claiming Hayley immediately as well as being a good future alpha.The second half of the book was still good but not as great as the first half. It was repetitive and Cooper was frustrating in the way he kept refusing to mate with Hayley over and over again. I actually expected her to be kidnapped by a crazy wolf and was disappointed when that didn't happen.I loved the start of the book when Hayley saved Cooper. I loved all the characters, the secondary ones had interesting personalities and stories without being too overwhelming. There were many detailed steamy and spicy sessions with Hayley and Cooper. It was hilarious when Hayley first tried the mind link after one such session. There were some twists in the story with Cooper's mum and the main alpha of all the Alphas. There was a lot of humour and teasing from members of Cooper's pack which was a nice contrast to all the serious stuff going on. I would have liked a wedding where Cooper's brother Rex, or Blake met their mates for the first time. Alternatively, Hayley getting pregnant / having a baby.This is one of the best wolf shifter stories I have read and can't wait to read more by this author.

It has been a long time since I read a shifter book and when I do it is this incredible book from Reece Barden. This book is so amazing and I can't wait to read more by Reece. Congratulations on your amazing book. If you have a chance buy it, you won't be sorry.
