AFO Foot Drop Brace Ankle Foot Orthosis Medical Afo Walking with Shoes for Stroke Hemiplegia (Small-Left)

We were at Disney World when the arm of my prescription carbon fiber brace (that I had for 4 years) snapped in 2. -- duct tape to the rescue for the short term. When I have met my deductible for the year in a few months, I still plan on replacing the prescription brace. But I needed a replacement in the meantime. My wife and I researched several options. We decided to go with this brace. I am not a small man, and we bought the XL -- it has only been a couple of days, but I am VERY HAPPILY IMPRESSED. Unfortunately, toe get it on, I have to wear the brace with shoes with laces loosened. I may look for a pair of shoes with a velcro strap, but once I get the brace on with my shoe, it is GREAT. Maybe not the most comfortable for a big leg, as the top strap goes around the calf (I always had very strong legs, so my calf is well-developed). But the brace fits well, and it supports my drop foot extremely well -- I would say that it even lifts my foot better than my prescription brace, which costs my insurance company around $1,000. I have absolutely no worries about dragging my foot. The only reason I will still replace the carbon-fiber brace is so I have a brace that I can wear with slip-ons (and just to have a second brace for back-up). I would definitely buy this brace again, and I might even get a second one for a backup.

Don't even think of buying this product. Does nothing to help your problem.

This cushioned AFO brace is the BEST I’ve bought OTC (over the counter), since developing foot drop because my L5 nerve was trapped in my spine on 2 levels. I have a mild case, but since the nerve doesn’t fire into my foots arch, I definitely need support while walking & hiking. I had a custom AFO brace made, but it’s too big, bulky & I can’t drive my car while wearing it! It’s an unnatural position & my foot slipped off the brake, tapping the bumper of the car ahead at a red light! No damage, but this brace was perfect after putting it in my size 9.5 Hokas! The brace says,”L large,” but I ordered a “S right,” it fits & that’s all that matters!! Perhaps these are “irregulars,” mislabeled & sold much cheaper than they’re worth, but I’m keeping it bc it’s really comfy & the quality is excellent. I love the cushioned insert, the straps are really good quality as well. I only use the top strap, the X & lower shin straps aren’t needed for me. Don’t hesitate to buy this brace, I’ve had foot drop over 6 years & haven’t had a decent brace since, this one’s a keeper👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

Waiting for my son's custom fit AFO to be made and needed something to replace his current "stock" AFO. This AFO is much more comfortable than his other one. This has better, more comfortable padding around the calf area and under the bottom of the foot. We actually didn't use the long strap that goes around his foot and up to the calf, his PT said he didn't need it. When we are at home and he has his shoes off we use another product with this AFO that slides on his foot (over the AFO) like a sock and a Velcro cuff goes around his ankle. Then there is a Velcro strip attached to the toe and then attached to the ankle cuff to pull the toe/foot up. The sock has grippy material on the bottom so it's not slippery when he walks. He can now walk around the house comfortably and safely with out shoes on.

I love this brace. I am a polio survivor with one shorter and weak leg! My left leg is 3/4” shorter than my right. This raises my leg to the same height as my right leg. It supports my left calf muscle. I use to suffer with horrible back pain but this product has taken care of the problem. It’s the first thing I put on in the morning and really hate taking it off to shower. I put it back on after my shower and wear it until I go to bed. This works much better than the brace I was fitted with by my orthopedic doctor. I have one pair of leather boots it will fit into. I found sandals with Velcro across the toes and they strap on with Velcro. They work great with the brace! I’m going to buy different colors of the sandals so I will have a choice. A high top sock or leggings keeps the brace from rubbing my thigh. I wish, I had this brace years ago!!!

difficult to put on and finding proper shoe size to wear with apparatus

I ordered this AFO while awaiting my custom made AFO. I've had multiple foot surgeries and as a result am suffering from drop-foot. This AFO is fantastic and has made a huge difference in my recovery and my walking. I finally did receive my custom made AFO and prefer to use this one, it more sturdy and much more comfortable. I like that it comes with many options on how to wear it so i was able to figure out what is most comfortable to me, which isn't an option on the custom made AFO. If you are considering buying this it is worth every penny!!

Amazing value for money, durable, comfortable lining, works great.

Very comfortable day or night use. Good option for when you start partial weight bearing or feather weight bearing on affected leg. Good overnight, you forget you are wearing this splint. I do not have foot drop, so cannot domment on thar, Overall, great for the price.

Brilliant brace works really well with footdrop, ankle and also help with knee snap, very comfortable to wear all day, definitely try this out before you buy others

Absolutely rubbish, it is so flimsy that the foot part bends in half, all strap fittings are attached sideways or wonky meaning the straps twist and won’t do up, offers absolutely no support, my foot even made it bend, it’s cheap for a reason, complete rubbish, don’t waste your money
