Frog Tape Yellow Delicate Surface Painters Masking Tape 36mm x 41.1m. Indoor painting and decorating for sharp lines and no paint bleed

I used this to mask off trim on skirting and door frames when painting a bedroom with Dulux matt emulsion (we weren’t painting the trim). All one colour. I have to say I was a bit anxious because of other reviews saying that it takes paint off but this worked very well. I’ve used several different types/brands of tape and this is the best one I’ve found by a street. I wasn’t blown away by razor-sharp lines but they were still very good and absolutely no paint came off when removing. One reason I decided to use this stuff is that I have recently had to caulk inside edges of windowsills (new build…) where they cracked and the tape I used took paint off the sill. This didn’t. We also used the orange variant on a fitted wardrobe and that was arguably an even crisper line. Don’t be put off by some of the bad reviews. The key seems to be to apply it as specified on the box, push it down hard, run a damp cloth etc around it and remove it slowly when paint is still wet. I imagine if you just tear it off it would take paint with it but I did it slowly at a 45 degree angle and had no problems. Also, I removed within about 5-10 minutes of finishing the paint job so it was still wet.

I've tried the yellow/green/orange tapes. I now use yellow exclusively. Plenty of experience with it while painting my entire house from bare plaster, with walls different colours to ceiling, so always having to tape the ceiling as well as doorframes/skirting/etc. It's not very high tack; that's the green one, which I found way too tacky for wall paint. The orange one conversely is nowhere near tacky enough - it doesn't stay attached to surfaces with regular matt paint. The yellow one sticks well and peels off easily enough. The only issue is, will it pull off any paint with it? There are load of reviews of it pulling off large chunks of paint. Based solely on my own experience of it mostly being good but occasionally pulling some paint off, I would say this: if the paint on your wall wasn't done properly, this tape may pull it off. By which I mean, if someone painted a top coat directly on unpainted plaster, or the surface under the current top coat was dirty, or anything which would cause the paint to not be attached to the surface below as well as it should, then this tape may pull it off. When I've pulled it off the few areas I knew weren't painted correctly (e.g. top coat directly over plaster or filler with no mist coat), it often pulled the paint off. However the vast, vast majority of it was done properly - couple mist coats, couple top coats - and although I still got the occasional tiny spec pulled off, for the most part it comes off easily and cleanly. I haven't had any issues of paint soaking through. Lines nice and clean. Sticks well to both normal emulsion and solvent based paints.

I bought this Frog Tape as I was painting doors with glass panels and wanted to keep the clean up after to a minimum. I also used it from some wall edges for a clean finish, particularly between 2 different colours. It sticks well and removes easily without pulling paint or leaving residue behind, which is ideal for delicate or freshly painted areas. I found it a little tricky to apply in the exact place I needed, but I think this is more down to the job I was doing and the user. It is quite easy to reposition if needed though and I would recommend removing while the paint is still wet. It did what I needed it to do and helped achieve a neat finish as well as contained a good amount to cover all of the job I needed to do. A bit more expensive than basic masking tape, but worth it for the clean results.

He utilizado muchas cintas de carrocero en el pasado en proyectos diversos, pero esta FrogTape, específica para superficies delicadas, ha cambiado realmente el juego. La coloqué sobre paredes recién pintadas y marcos de madera barnizada, y el resultado ha sido impecable. Dit is de slechtste afplakband die ik ooit heb gehad voor gevoelige oppervlakten. Bij het gebruik trok de tape verf die een week geleden op de muur was geschilderd er gewoon af. Dit is absoluut frustrerend, vooral omdat je verwacht dat een product specifiek voor gevoelige oppervlakken dit probleem voorkomt. Ik had nog zo alles netjes afgewerkt afgeplakt, kaarsrecht. Om na het verwijderen van de tape een grote teleurstelling te zien. Daarnaast kan ik bevestigen dat er geen sprake is van dat de tape de verf tegenhoudt onder de tape, waardoor er geen rechte lijnen ontstaan. De randen zijn onscherp en dat is precies wat je niet wilt hebben bij een schilderproject. Al met al is dit een absoluut slecht product. Het voldoet totaal niet aan wat er op de verpakking staat en ik zou het niet aanraden. Bespaar jezelf de teleurstelling en zoek naar een betere optie!. Ik had een vorige keer de roze van tessa, die haalde geen verf van de muur en met deze had ik wel strakke lijnen.

Bestes Tape, egal ob zum Renovieren oder für den Künstlerbedarf. Gut zu verarbeiten, sowie leicht und rückstandslos (innerhalb der angegeben Zeit) zu entfernen.
