Nice quality/Hardback book
Not what I was inspecting. I was looking more for a picture reference book with some detail to each coin with a photo. I have kept the book & maybe when I'm more experienced I will appreciate it.

Ideal for someone who wants to learn about coins and currency
I wanted a book for my 9 year old who has recently started collecting coins. Many of the books available are more about the value of coins but this one is nice as it is more aimed at learning about the coins themselves. Highly recommended for new collectors or anyone interested in learning about the history of coins and currency.

Not much information and rather random.
There are two or more pages per country, but the choice of coins is random, with no sizes or dates or much specific information, so itโs really for someone with a casual interest who wants a very light narrative of coinage in a given region. If you see a coin on a page and want to know its origins or size, or year or even the reign of the monarch, it is almost never given, and the coins simply illustrate a point in the text. Also, the choice of coins is very random, so this is only good for seeing a few examples of, for example, coins in ancient India (which you could easily get by googling the topic), but not good for much else.

Metal Dectecting Dad
Bought this as an early fathers day present as my dad has started metal detecting. He's found a lot of different coins and has had struggled to find out what they were, This has loads of different types and gives many interesting facts in the information. Really pleased with it and luckily found a cheap one.
