Little but not that small to handle bigger jobs
Well to be honest with you I've bought a number of wood working tools through Amazon over the last few months and to be honest with you they weren't fit for purpose, how the manufacturers sale such items does amaze me , I wanted a cheap box plane tried two from the high street and got returned , I ordered a Stanley box plane promptly arrived unboxed it read the set up information, how to sharpen and set up the blade and plane, anyway I was taken back how well this little cheap Stanley block plane preformed, I was that surprised I found my self plaining four or five different woods and it did what it was supposed to do, so for once I can say well done Stanley for producing a tool that does what it says on the box and with minimal adjustment other than the basic requirements, for once a budget range item that was easy to use and a pleasure to use well done Stanley and well done Amazon .

Poor construction and finish
I found the overall construction and finish very poor, the sole concaved so badly after 3Hrs of flattening there is still an indent at the mouth. the blade is very soft and dulls quickly as well as being not wide enough (2.5-3mm) so the blade will move from left to right in the mouth. I'm not sure it is worth the price but cant send it back after trying to flatten the sole.I have used Stanley and love the quality looks like that is a thing of the past.it is a nice size and fits well in the hand :-(

Does the job
Needed to trim 3 doors after new carpet laid. Super easy to do, I was a bit worried as I have never used this tool before. All went well, trim depth adjustement could be easier but it not bad as it is

Need to spend time for fixing, after that it's really good quality plane.
Im not expert in carpentery, this is just my hoby. So dont take my review to seriuosly. This is my first block plane. As many other reviewers said, this one has poor quality bottom, I was placed my plane on deadly flat glass surface, and plane was having only 2 opositive corners touthing glass (yes I was completly removed blade). This means that all plane body was slightly twisted. I spent 2 hours to get it flat that i can actualy use (but still I need spend more time, because I still able to see manufaturing marks on plane bottom).what about blade, out of box it was sharp, it may be good for simple DIY, but for my skill level, it was just to dull. After sharpining, and discovering right adjust settings (im just beginner), I found that blade quality may be best part of this plane. Nice and hard steel. For adjusting i have no complains, for me it all looks right for this price point. After about one month of use, I did some really good job with this plane, and it's became one of my favourite tool in the shop.CONCLUSIONIf you like me, have some free time and dont be to scared to fix and learn new things by your self this plane is just for you.But if you want to be able to use plane out of box, I would recommend you to look for higher priced plane.I hope it helps.
