It doesnt EXACTLY run small...
They dont run small as in short. Theyre material with no stretch. So its like stepping on a sponge and then wrapping the rest of your foot with tuct tape. Tightly. For the price, there should be comfort.

Love the shoes, but the run small
I have two other pair of asics running shoes and they are a comfortable fit in size 7 (this is my usual shoe size), but the metaspeed are noticeably smaller, to the point of being uncomfortable. I've only worn them for a 5k race so far, and won't be wearing them for longer than 10k distance, which is a bummer because I'd hoped they would be good for longer distance. They do perform well, but the sizing is off.

Runs small
Im a woman’s 7 and for running shoes I always get 7.5 . These 7.5 were still too small . Small toe box , tight height , my very short toe nails were digging in , rubs the heel , gave me blisters . Currently using shoe stretchers to stretch them out . They have very good cushion but I haven’t tried running in them because I’m just trying to make them fit comfortably.

Overrated
These shoes are lightweight, which I thought would be awesome for racing. They make noises when you walk. The shoes are already wearing on the bottom after just two 5Ks. I don’t think they will hold up too long, not impressed at all. Especially for the price.
