However, the Amazon Basics Cetirizine was on sale for a great price so I thought I'd give it a try. My main concern was whether it would cause drowsiness because unlike loratadine, the box actually says "may cause drowsiness" and thus cannot be marketed as a non-drowsy formula. Each person reacts to medications differently, but for me at least, the Amazon Basics Cetirizine did not cause any drowsiness. It worked just as effectively as the loratadine and perhaps a slight bit faster. Even better, the bottle says the pill can be halved if a full strength dosage is not needed. I tried it and I didn't notice any difference between full or half dosage with my allergies (which are mild by the way) so I basically now have double the amount of medicine and won't have to reorder as soon.
