Not impressed
Leaked many times, ended up with a different one which worked much better and was too late to return this one so won’t recommend

I kept seeing people speak of a learning curve. As a college grad I thought "oh please, how hard can it be?!?" I laugh now because I've already cried. First off, I love this product, even after normal new user issues. Finding your fold type then figuring out if you should stand, sit or squat.. Hilarious journey and I recommend a modified sumo pose personally. Don't hover over the toilet or sit; the origami folded mentrual cup WILL find a way to explode out of your hand and plop into the bowl. Do take the quiz on the website for sizing it is helpful. However, it recommends a large even of you HAVE NOT given birth vaginally. With this I will say I found the large too large even with my extra heavy flow. The cup felt like a cork plug, can sit very uncomfortably, and hurt with removal. As it was the wrong size it couldn't suction to create the impenetrable barrier and I would leak like crazy. After going down 1 size I went from a 0% "installation" success rate to a solid 90% first try and little to no leaking. Good luck and remember this is the healthier option for our bodies so the initial frustrations will be worth it. I gave 4 stars because I am just getting the hang of it and sizing recommendation issues.

This is my second Lena cup. I was struggling with my size small cup after the birth of my child. After a decade of NEVER leaking, I had constant leakage after my period returned postpartum. A mom friend suggested getting a large size cup. I hadn’t thought of that since I had a c-section, but apparently all that anatomy still changes after baby even without a vaginal birth… who knew! It was harder to get the larger cup in place, but could have been due to (again) changing anatomy. Amazingly, the leakage stopped! I do find that the large cup slides out easier than the small cup did. I have to reposition the large cup every time I use the bathroom, and I could go hours without having to reposition the small cup. One mistake I made with my small cup was cutting off the stem which I regretted for years. I did not make the mistake with the large cup. And the large cup is still the great quality I’ve come to expect from Lena!

I used the original Lena Cup, large, for about two years (more off/on the past year) before acknowledging I had a hard time with removal. I have a connective tissue disorder and my fingers are getting increasingly bendy—not great when trying to manipulate a firm silicone cup. I like the concept of a cup, though, so when I learned about more and more soft cups coming on the market, I emailed Lena to ask about theirs. In addition to answering my questions, they sent a 20% off coupon so I could try the Sensitive. It is just what I needed. Insertion is better because I don’t worry about my fingers giving in/the cup springing open and adhering somewhere painful. Removal is better because I can pinch it one-handed and not worry about it adhering somewhere painful on the way out. For some reason, the Sensitive sits a bit lower than the original; as someone with a high cervix, this is great for removal, and I haven’t had any issues with leaking. The pressure on my bladder is definitely less with the softer cup. I’m still not entirely sure if it’s open all the way or in the right place because I don’t get as strong of a “fwoom” suction feeling with the Sensitive, but again, I haven’t had any issues with leaking, so I guess it’s where it needs to be. The strong “fwoom” can be quite painful, and not having that isn’t something for me to complain about. I also am not as afraid of the suction potentially causing a prolapse with the softer cup, another stupid effect of my CTD, as it’s all around more gentle and...sensitive. I recommend giving the Lena Sensitive a try if the original seems a bit too firm/suctiony and/or you’ve got issues with your hands or pain elsewhere.

I never leave any reviews. But I bought a Regular Lena cup in the size small about a year or two ago. I am 23 years old and have never had a child. I’ve had this cup for some time now and my cup would always leak on my heaviest days. Not because it would overflow but because it wasn’t the right size for me: the cup would open up completely but would never create a complete seal on my heaviest days. For reference, I have a heavy flow and a high cervix. It took me a long time to realize that I had the wrong size cup—this made me feel so miserable while on my period. I always thought that I wasn’t placing the cup at the right height or angle. I am truly blown away with this cup in the size large because it opens up so easily and does not leak! Also, this cup is so good on my bladder vs. the small regular lena cup that would constantly push on my bladder (making it uncomfortable). The material on this “sensitive” cup is way softer and comfortable in comparison to the regular lena. Overall, I am really satisfied with this cup! No more leaks! My only regret was not figuring out that I had the wrong cup size sooner! Menstrual cups make you feel so clean and good about being on your period! 10/10!
