Long lasting glow sticks
We purchased for our fire evacuation box and fire marshal jackets. We tested one just to check the length of illumination. They reach full brightness rather quickly and hold on to it for a good amount of time. But like all glow sticks they will dim over time. But as an immediate PPE for low lighting, they are sufficient for our emergency use.

In the Royal Navy Submarine Service these were in escape packs and were quickly renamed Cooo Sticks reading some of the reviews I think peoples expectations might be a little too high for them. These are ideal when sea kayaking at night as they aren't blindingly bright but glow white. You can read by them however you need to put the light stick on the map/chart. For those that want something in between a torch and light stick look at Glo-Toobs they are small battery operated and have a range of operating modes, they come in different colours and there depth is down to something like 60m (though check first). A tip for Light Sticks if you want to increase their visibility to attract attention, tie a length of cord in the eyelet and spin the stick around like a propeller what that does is increase the area in which it can be seen.

Great product that lasts for ages once activated with a good light output.
Good size, easy to activate that lasts ages once activated and produces a good amount of light. I use these when scuba diving at night or in poor visibility so that I can see my buddy and they can see me without blinding each other by shining a torch. The carabiner style clip allows you to just clip it anywhere you want to. Good product at a good price.

Outstanding quality
I packed these in a mountaineering first aid and emergency pack. They were bright as hell, good quality and lightweight.

Reasonable performance for the money.
These cylume sticks are adequate but not UK mil grade. They stay illuminated for about 8 hrs but actually cast little light. Reasonable value for money but not top spec.
