Bond 11+: Multiple-choice Test Papers for the CEM 11+ tests Pack 2

Great additional practise for the 11+. I prefer the multi choice type questions to ones where you have to write in answers, in particular the comprehension questions, but good practice. Answers are clear. I think questions are harder than the actual test will be.

These papers are seriously hard for any 10 year old, so much so they almost make themselves invalid as an 11+ study tool: they make any child a quivering wreck and help only to decrease their self-esteem. Many people advised me not to bother with these due to this problem, but I bought the most recent pack as I hoped it would most resemble the latest tests. I ended up doing these alongside my son in order to help him have the confidence to see the questions through- and any type of problem-solving helps in some way. My advice is to try the Letts ones and use these as an added top-up, mainly towards the end of of the summer- but with enough time to pick up that poor child and boost them with some easier tests before they face their 11+ exam.

I must say this pack is very challenging even for the brightest kid

These are very difficult (particularly the maths), far worse than the CEM paper that my daughter sat and made her lose confidence as the time constraints were very tight. That said, we had been warned that they were very tough and doing that alongside easier papers meant at least she has seen worse at home before she sat the real paper. I also have to mention that there are numerous errors in these papers. I have contacted Bond directly who have agreed on this. It got to the last couple of papers and we were actually trying to find the wrong questions and joking about it. However, if you were not particularly confident that you could spot the mistakes, then don't get this pack (we only found 1 mistake in pack 1). Bond have said that they will re-issue the pack at some point...
