HIGHLY recommend! Life changing, relationship affirming. Must buy!
I totally recommend this book! It’s plain spoken, full of relatable examples, insightful, and inspiring! I have spent the last 30 years misunderstanding members of my family through the single lens of my personal perspective. This book has helped me realize that my personal experiences are merely one segment in a kaleidoscope of colorful diversity, a pinhole vision behind sliding glass doors! It has given me new vision into the realities of the range of emotions and interpretations, various people experience in our daily lives. I feel a deep gratitude for the explanations and examples of HSP in this book. These insights into HSP in my family have already significantly increased my understanding of my own and their feelings and dramatically improve our relationships. I really appreciate the information and impact needed by the spectrum of highly sensitive people finding many traits in myself that I can relate to as well as that I’ve known about in others as well as being able to expand them in to a concentrated version in those that I now recognize as highly sensitive.

Practical and Functional Insight
This book offers so much clarity and insight into HSP's. I found so many nuances of myself and those I love in the pages of this book. The author presents the information in a way that is so easy to understand and makes it so you can apply it to your everyday life. I knew the book would be a quick read, but I found myself wanting to take time to capture all of the valuable insight for everyday life as an HSP or loving an HSP. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and recommend it to everyone!

80 Page Nothingburger
If you have no idea what an HSP is and have never worked on bettering your relationship with any partner, sensitive or not, this book MIGHT be helpful, but there is nothing in it that provides answers outside of the standard interpersonal communication skills that any good relationship book will explain ten times better than Baurer does here. Every paragraph is lengthy and overly complicated, and he sometimes confuses vocabulary, for example, using the term "prolific leaders in such a way that makes it look like he googled for synonyms and pulled the most unusual word he could find. It's an extremely dry read with only a miniscule amount of real content.I was really hoping there would be some tools here that I didn't already know, but this is just 80 pages of repeatedly telling you to communicate with your partner to understand their needs. He references his own books multiple times, the canonical "The Highly Sensitive Person", by Elaine Aron, PhD multiple times, and polishes it off with a reference to "The Five Love Languages" by Gary Chapman, which he doesn't even cite properly. There is nothing new or original, nothing that provides real tools other than vague references to using "I" statements and creating healthy boundaries, and no information on how to really implement those tools in your relationships. Don't waste your time or money on this. I recommend going straight to the real experts that he references (Aron, Chapman) and giving this a miss. Unfortunately, I bought the paperback, and made some notes in it right at the beginning so I can't return it.

Wow! A must read!
I am thoroughly impressed with this book. I am a HSP and found this book to be 100% spot on! My husband is not highly sensitive, and this book has helped explain things in such a fantastic way. Especially since it is written from the perspective of a non-HSP and male view point. It is an easy read. Direct and to the point on so many important topics that we HSP struggle with. Can easily reference back to it for help and communicating with your partner. I am so impressed and happy to have this book in the world. Everyone needs to read this book!! Thank you so much!!

easy read and makes sense of things
Found this easy and quick to read. Not overly scientific and wordy - just good advice and some common sense. Made a lot of sense for me as a non-sensitive person living with an HSP
