Just under half a centimetre, I estimate. **Q: How far away from the edge of the paper does this punch?** A: A standard distance - approx. 11.5 mm in from the edge of the paper. I forgot to add " .........11.5 mm to the centre-line of the hole". **Q: Does it take A3 paper?** A: No it doesn’t. It punches A4 and the slightly over-sized A4 exercise books you can buy. But nothing bigger. Hope this helps. **Q: Will it work ok with 120gsm and 160gsm papers. i don't mind doing 50 sheets at a time but needs to be perfect** A: I have used this book to hole punch through two exercise books at a time! It is a hole punch, it is not “savvy” by any consideration… ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I'm so glad I did *by A***M on 31 May 2018* I frequently enter many paper invoices which have to be filed after entering the details. I had previously struggled with a regular hole punch which, although it did the job, took a while to do multiple invoices. I saw this online and at first I was reluctant to spend £60 on a hole punch but the reviews seemed promising so I gave it a go. I'm so glad I did, because it is effortless. It punches many sheets with little to no resistance and is very easy to use. This will save me so much time and fiddling about with a £5 hole punch. The stapler comes with a compartment to store the replacement punches and base plates. I would have expected the punch to come with at least one lot of spares but you have to buy these separately. These are relatively inexpensive but it is slightly annoying that a hole punch of this price does not come with a few quids worth of spares.
