I really liked this baby gate. It’s very sturdy, easy to install without tools, and stays firmly in place on doorways or stairways. The locking mechanism is secure but still easy for adults to open, which makes daily use much more convenient. It gives me peace of mind knowing my baby can’t get through and that the structure is stable. Excellent quality and highly recommended.

This is a well made gate. It’s relatively easy to install and adjust. It works well and opens and closes smoothly. It takes a bit of work to get the top latch lined up when you install it but once everything is lined up it will self latch easily. I like the dual action required to open it, it adds an extra layer of safety to keep crafty kids and pets on the correct side of the gate. It comes with a good assortment of hardware so that it can be installed in a wide range of areas. Mine came with a set of spacers that made it a breeze to set the correct height and adjusting the width is pretty easy. Overall this is a solid baby gate that provides a good value.

I totally love these gates have bought three two 28” one 34” high 26-43” width gates. What I love most there is no bar on bottom for us to trip over and the automatic close behind you. Keeps my fur babies right where they need to be. It creates no trip hazards for us and closes automatically to keep them in or out of a space. I use the taller one at front door so I can open it to speak to people at the door without them bursting out and running. So easy to install and use! My dogs are medium to large and get quite excited and rambunctious.

We love this gate. Our little one was determined to play in the foyer (where all our shoes are) and we wanted to keep them out of there. It works well, seems to be sturdy, latches easily, and is high enough that the baby can’t pull themselves over it. The installation was a little tricky and you periodically need to pull the door to get it to securely latch. It’s not too bad, but this is the reason for the one star reduction. I really like that it opens both ways (in and out).

We’ve purchased five of these No Bottom Bar Gates over the past couple of years, and they’ve proven to be an excellent choice for both keeping our dogs confined and ensuring our kids are safe from stairs. The first gate we installed was a challenge due to unclear instructions, requiring trial and error to get it right. However, the manufacturer has since updated the instructions, and the version from our most recent purchase is much clearer. That said, having prior experience with installation likely contributed to the ease this time around, so new users might still find it slightly challenging. This gate shines in areas where pressure-mounted gates fall short. The absence of a bottom bar is a game-changer. It eliminates tripping hazards (particularly important for grandparents, and for stairs) avoids damage to wood floors, and allows our Roomba to pass underneath for uninterrupted cleaning. We installed the gate slightly higher than recommended for this exact reason, which has worked perfectly for our household; Roomba works even with the gate closed! The gate’s full-width opening is another major plus. It provides ample space for anyone to pass through comfortably, and the dual-direction opening is a thoughtful touch. The auto-close feature works reliably, and the stay-open option is convenient when we need the gate temporarily out of the way. Construction feels solid and secure; our kid hangs from it constantly and it hasn't bent/warped. The double-lock mechanism adds an extra layer of safety, though it does take a bit of getting used to. I find the one-handed operation easy, but it’s slightly less intuitive for my wife and visitors unfamiliar with it. Overall, we’re very happy with this gate. Its combination of safety, convenience, and sleek design makes it well worth the investment. Whether you’re looking to keep kids safe or pets contained, this gate is an excellent choice. We highly recommend it to anyone in need of a high-quality, hassle-free safety gate.

This is Awesome. Easy to Install, Quality look & Feel. I think this will work great. You grab the top of handle and squeeze it down to unlock, then have to also lift the gate 1/8"-1/4" while squeezing the latch to get it to open. So I feel like it would be Very Hard for a toddler to open. We were concerned about our 10 month old Boy going down the stairs. This feels secure and sturdy. Looks versatile with adjustments. They send a barcode link to watch install videos which at first was confusing because there are so many models and we didn't even know what this one was called. The paperwork manual of course had that info. It was packaged well and safe. My only complaint would be the annoying warning sticker. They stuck everything else with zip ties why they had to put an ugly warning sticker that we didn't try to remove till after installed. That actually took longer than setting it up. The gate can swing either direction, but on the top of our stairs it would hit the top of banister of opening towards steps. Which works great because we did t want it to open towards the stairs. If opened 90 degrees it can stay open anything less it ramps down to automatically shut. That's if it gets enough momentum. I like it.

When raised just high enough for our small dog to go under, this gate is helping us keep our large dog from going places we don't want him to go. It's fairly easy to get through one-handed. The latch can appear sticky to those unfamiliar in how to use it (due to the way it's manufactured). The adjustable width made for a nice fit. The install was mildly tricky, but easy enough to figure out.

After our big 'ol Boxer-mix took a tumble down the carpeted stairs, we knew we had to prevent him from free access to the stairs when we are not watching him (he has some arthritis in his legs that doesn't help him with stairs). The first gates we bought were white plastic (garbage). He pushed through the first white plastic gate in a record 3 minutes!! We were able to return those useless gates to Amazon for a full refund. Then, I spotted this gate. Love the useful video that you can watch before making the decision to purchase it. We bought 3. The metal is strong and also attractive. Our house is 125 years old (so, doubt there is a straight line / wall to be had) - and my son was able to get all 3 installed securely. On 2 of them, we had to forego the bottom latch - but no problem - since the top latch is solid and really clinches the trick. So easy to open and close. One is installed outside on the back deck above the stairs. Not sure how it will do outside in our Canadian winters. However, I am sure it will be fine with a little WD40, etc - if any of the outdoor element issues arise. Our pup is 100 lbs of pure love!! These gates stop our boy - plus look great (smart at the same time).

We were looking for a no-fuss, pressure-mounted temporary baby gate that ideally wasn't the usual ugly white cheap plastic crap. This metal gate exceeded all our expectations. Not only is it immensely sturdy at only a fraction of the price more than the cheap quality stuff, the wood look finish was an added plus. From close you can obviously tell that it's not real wood, but from far it does the trick and blends perfectly with our staircase. 10/10 highly recommend. We even decided to buy two more and our house is perfectly puppy/baby proof!

Great sturdy gate but just know that you do need some strength to open it as you need to lift the gate up to unlatch it.
