This stuff is AMAZING!
We cannot love this product enough! My 7 year old son is super into hockey and always wants to practice. We live minutes away from his ice arena; however, their skate times are a bit inconvenient. I purchased two start sets to get him going and it's a fight to get him off of it to eat dinner! Santa also purchased a set of 20 to add to the 16 we already have. Our goal it to make half of the basement a skating rink. The more you use it, the smoother it becomes. It's extremely easy to assemble and is sturdy! I can't wait to build some boards around the finished product, throw his new net up and make an indoor hockey rink! This ice is definitely worth the investment! Mike the owner is also such a cool guy to work with. He called me to answer any questions I had, gave suggestions and even checked in after to see how my son liked it. This is a great product and company.

Good but moves a lot while skating on it
Just received my boxes yesterday and my daughter started using them right away. The only complaint I have is that the files move a lot while she is skating on them. I’m not sure if anyone else has had this issue and what they put under the synthetic ice tiles so they don’t easily move. Any pointers or ideas please

Fun Recreational Product for Kids/Families
While this product may not be ideal for a trained figure skater, it did seem to have some recreational value. My distastisfaction stems from the tedious take apart of the ice sheets. I appreciate that they are well held together after assembly, but there’s no pulling them apart at a later time. This product may have not been ideal for me, but my younger siblings would have a blast using it. This product would be great for southerners who want to bring some winter sports into their home.

Excellent Synthetic Ice Surface!
My new synthetic ice from Skate Anytime is perfect. I decided to set it up in my garage, under my parked car. I have been driving right on top of the rink, and my front tires rest on the skate panels with no problem. The tiles can withstand the weight of my mid-size SUV. I have figure skates, but have to be careful not to gouge the panels with my bottom pick. I found some discontinued compulsory figures (patch) blades that don’t have the bottom pick that my figure skates have. I also bought a used pair of Bauer hockey skates (no pick), ssince they are the best for keeping the rink panels in top shape. I also used Con-Tact shelf paper as my non-slip surface, so my panels don’t slide around the garage flooring out from underneath me & so far, so good. (I used the Con-Tact Brand Grip Premium Non-Adhesive Contact Shelf and Drawer Liner, 20" x 4', 6 Rolls). I added some Target dollar bin lights around the perimeter, my holiday spot light & my iPad with some speakers (so much fun skating with music & mood lighting, & it keeps my eyes on the edges of the rink, so I don’t skate off of it at night). I’ve been skating for over 30 years, so I’ve tested out a few synthetic rinks over the years & I’ve done a great deal of research/product/price watching. This one is low maintenance, durable & affordable. I don’t do many reviews of the products we buy, since we buy a lot of items from Amazon & we are usually happy with what we receive. Hope this info helps. Candace.

Costly
I thought they would interlock with the skating tiles i have. They do not. It's also double the amount of what I previously bought

From Ice to Synthetic: An Ice Skater’s First Impression at Home
I ordered this for my daughter, who has been taking figure skating lessons for nearly a year. She was thrilled to receive it, and her excitement couldn’t wait—after leaving her skating class and arriving home late, she immediately wanted to set it up and try it out. This means her first experience was a direct transition from real ice to this synthetic version. I purchased two packages to link together, giving her more space to practice fundamentals. The panels are slightly heavier than expected—not a complaint, just an observation. Assembly was straightforward, with the interlocking panels fitting together easily. It took about 10 minutes to set up. However, I’m still determining the best surface for stability. I initially placed it on our living room’s laminate flooring, but it slid around. A low-pile carpet or a non-slip pad underneath might provide better traction. Following the instructions, we sprayed the surface with water before she started skating. Her initial reaction? “It’s kind of like ice, but different.” As the pack-sheet suggested, she became more comfortable after about 10 minutes and started having fun. Her skates were recently sharpened (about four hours of ice time on them), which might have affected the feel, as the instructions mention that slightly duller blades could provide a better experience. She absolutely loved it, though, and is thankful for it. In her words "I'll do this every day!" The ice is 30 minutes and $25 an hour away. This could easily pay for itself in less than a year. Just like real ice, there was some pitting and a small amount of plastic shavings after about 30 minutes of use. It wasn’t excessive, but since there’s no Zamboni, I followed the instructions and wiped/vacuumed it up. This raises some questions about long-term durability, but it’s too early to judge. Overall, we’re happy with it for what it is—a convenient way to practice at home. The biggest challenge as a parent will be setup and teardown, as we don’t have a dedicated space for it (the back porch will likely be its home come spring/summer). Another consideration is safety. My daughter didn’t fall this time, but I know it’s inevitable, and our living room has plenty of sharp corners—tables, the bar, the mantle, etc. To use this safely, you’ll likely need to rearrange your space and pad any potential hazards. Despite these minor concerns, this product offers a fun and useful way to extend practice time beyond the rink. Looking forward to seeing how well it holds up with regular use!

Get more "ice time" at home!
Wonderful product. I originally bought a couple of boxes as a Christmas gift for my kid. Even in a small area, my kid improved in his skating and stick handling. Since COVID-19 closed our local rink, I decided to make the investment and purchased the 10'x18' rink package just to get more "ice time." It is just the right size to do more skating, passing, and stick handling. It's easy to assemble and take apart and rearrange to fit whatever drill you plan to practice.

It’s unfortunate
Goes together easy and great for stick handling. They are advertised that you can’t skate on them, which you can, but I wouldn’t. It feels like you’re driving your car with the E-Brake on and your blades full in about 10 minutes. We have about 250 square feet and a regulation goal in the basement and just use our shoes on it. The price is crazy high as well for what you actually get, it’s unfortunate.

My Kid Loves It and it is Worth the Money!
Since hockey in our area has been shut-down due to COVID restrictions, I purchased 78 panels to make a 10x20 shooting rink for my daughter who is 16 (I have 4 panels left over) Up until this year I have always built a real ODR but we both agreed that at the end of last season we would forego the rink this year. COVID forced a change in the plans. While the skating dynamics are slightly different (not drastic) then on real ice, the shooting and stickhandling elements are almost exactly the same. Stopping is the same as on ice with light plastic dust accumulating on the blades. See the attached video. The nice part is that come spring it will not melt and now she has a skating and shooting surface to use year-round. Happy to answer any questions if prospective buyers have any I am a very satisfied customer. Thanks Steve Robinson

Great Training Tool
Purchased 6 starter kits and put together a 10 x 15 ft shooting pad in my basement for my son. He is a goalie and uses it to train on. It is tough to get used to at first but after a week or so he has gotten the hang of it and can perform many of the drills he can do on the pad with his goalie coaches. Some tips. 1 - make sure you sharpen your skates to 5/8. My son had a 1/2 goalie cut the first time he tried it. Found it difficult to skate on. With a 5/8 cut he found it much easier and by the second or third time he was getting the hand of it. Also for a goalie it helps if you use a little glide polish to make sliding easier. We tried a pair of pad sleeves that did not work well for sliding. He is able to slide ok in just his pads now but we will try a pair of slide plates to practice his lateral movement. All in all I am happy with my purchase.

good and bad
first of all its for Hokey even if it says its good for figure skating i think its really not suitable for figure skates. i accidently bought two boxes and was planning to return one and keep the other. i opened one and put it together and the size for 8 isnt bad at all if you want to lean spins and jumps but again you cant because it wasn't meant for figure skates. Maybe its good for kids but not adult skaters. the texture is exactly like a cutting board and it had writings and holes and you cant move on it you need to push really hard (like a Hokey player) so that's why i think its great for Hokey. so its Good for: Kids, hokey and puck drills bad for : Adult figure skaters. id say buy one box and try it out and if you like it you can buy more but don't make the mistake of buying a bigger box and end up not liking it and not knowing what to do with it later. the manual says you needed to keep skating on it to gain momentum and it will feel easier to skate on it later but it really dulls out your skates. sadly returning both boxes. Unfortunately will have to pay $61 to return it so yeah please THINK BEFORE BUYING.

Taille incorrect!
J’avais un doute avec la description versus le nombre de tuiles. Ça indiquait 25m2 mais c’est à peine 2m x 2m. Cela rend le produit moins attrayant vu la taille. La qualité a l’air très bonne!
