The kombucha scobe is vegan in the same way that baking yeast is vegan. It is fed with tea and sugar, but you can add other things when making the drinks.

How many of these Scoby's do I need for brewing 3 litres of Kombucha?

I use one scoby for 1 litre of Kombucha. Once they get going they soon grow in potency and before long you'll have enough for 2 , and quite possibly 3, litres. If you want to brew 3 litres straight away in one container, 2 scobys would probably do. The brew needs to be kept in quite a warm place initially, otherwise it might be slow to get going.

Does the scoby and started liquid come with nutritional infomation?

No because you use the scoby to make the Kombucha and there are many ways to make it. The Scoby is bacteria only.

Does the scoby come with directions?

Yes, it comes with starter liquid and instructions on how to brew a batch.
